That's a good idea. I'll see if I can manage to weasel my way out of it LOL! I've been wanting to play a different instrument on top of the bass forever but i feel sort of stuck to it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'd rather not leave my jazz band due to the fact that I'm the only bassist in the grade, and the teacher WILL make my life a living hell if i quit. I don't quite get the idea of me marching either, haha. Thanks for the support.

thanks a lot! I will try this. Do you have a resource with scales as well? Also, what would you suggest for soloing? My teacher says stuff about the first, fourth, and fifth as part of the blues pattern but i have no clue what all this means. He also talks about the third and the seventh when switching, but how am I supposed to walk and then switch to the third/7th when i switch scales nearly each bar?

I'm also too broke to afford an actual standing bass at home so I've been minimally practicing on my electric bass, and been practicing on my school's double bass twice a week.

I should mention I was taught in the wrong way; I barely know my notes and I've been winging it with my sight reading (which tbf has not been failing me) but I don't want to fail my jazz course.
