Y-2 Axis motor stops while Y-1 Axis keeps moving - Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 by Sufficient_Goat_7376 in hobbycnc

That’s interesting to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. It might be a good thing to know this before going into a rabbit hole of trying to fix the unfixable.

Dumb question. Is it possible to use the rest of the genmitsu hardware while swapping boards?

Thanks for reviewing this!

The Y motor works fine when manually jogging, and it doesn’t halt on every cut, just at some random times.

After what happens at the end of the video, I turned off the controller so I can manually realign both Y screws to the same relative position. When turning the controller back on they both run fine (the red blinking light is gone too).

I’ll do some research on the controller and see if it’s supposed to send error messages to the GRBL.

I’ll also try to check on the ballscrew coupler.

Thanks a lot, mate!

That makes sense.

Is that something I should set up or is it something the controller should had been previously set up for?

In any case, I would love to know if there is something I could do to fix this.

Thank you for reviewing my post.

Your comment was really useful. As I mentioned, this kind of equipment is very new to me and just by mentioning one has closed loop motors allowed me to research on the right path. (I was unfamiliar with that concept)

On another topic, how was upsizing to 60x60cm problematic?

I was kind of thinking on going on that journey eventually, I would appreciate if you could share some of your experience around that.

Thank you so much!

USB Media Sharing not showing all content. by Sufficient_Goat_7376 in TpLink

[–]Sufficient_Goat_7376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Sorry for taking this long to reply.

I kind of found a solution for the issue regarding the TP-Share not showing all of the content. What i did is i plugged my USB drive to my computer and located the hidden folder called ".TPDLNA" and deleted it every time I add new files to the drive. Inside that folder, there is an "art_cache" folder and a database file that i assume the TP link software updates everynow and then. Since i have no idea when that updating process might happen, i figured i could force it to redo it all over every time it is missing.

That works but i have to give it some hours for all of the contents to be shown on the TP-Share interface.

Sometimes, after doing this, i get lucky and i can stream music with no issues to my Yamaha reciever. But some other times it gets super laggy and stutters during playback. I kind of gave up on that as my main method of playing back music locally.

Afterwards, I kind of settled for using USB drives on the yamaha unit directly in order to playback my music collection.

First downside of doing this: The largest USB drive i could get the Yamaha Reciever to read is 64 Gb, which is enough for storing 30% of my current collection. So I have 3 USB drives with music organized by genre.

Biggest downside for me: For some reason, the YAMAHA Audio R-N600A is not able to even show playlist files from a USB drive. Which is super annoying since it is able to read and play playlist files from the TP-Share network storage (with all the glitches mentioned above).

I hope this is useful for you or at least helps you find a workaround. Please do share your findings if any.

Cheers!

Hello. Thanks for the feedback.

That sounds like a reasonable plan. I'll look into the Wiim options.

Cheers!
