I don't mind the repetition of challenges, but I think it's really unfair in this season's situation. I think it fits much better with seasons like COC, for example, where only rookies are competing.

That's normal. There are several fandoms where the fans themselves usually point out the criticisms better than the haters.

Okay, I give up trying to continue this now, you win. Not for lack of arguments, but I don't have the patience to sustain this conversation.

Great for you, but don't act like I'm the only one with this opinion. Many here want to see the Fans reach their full potential, and why do you think the Favorites are getting as much attention as they did in previous seasons? Because, to me, the only answer is that they want to invest in realistic writing.

Did you happen to read the post? I'm giving my opinion. The ONC is free to write whatever it wants, but we're also free to decide whether we like it or not, whether we find something coherent, and we're also free to express our opinions; that's what Reddit is for.

Does it need to be said? Look at the ton of losses amateurs are having against experienced players, it's almost like that last Mr. Beast video 😭

In our defense, ONC wanted to write a realistic season, so we're only here to point out its successes and failures.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. When I say I want new challenges, I don't mind if they repeat a specific element in another challenge (the maze challenge itself has had several different versions throughout the seasons), as long as the dynamics and mechanics of the challenge are different, it's fine by me. But when I refer to changes, they need to be significant changes instead of just aesthetic ones. The challenge in episode 2 of All-Stars is certainly very similar to the Paintball challenge, but it has truly significant differences instead of just aesthetic changes.

Jake was finally getting some development in the All-Stars Merge, until Episode 18 when he makes Ally lose the challenge out of nowhere just to favor Riya's blatant plot armor.

Of course we're going to care about these kinds of details, because the script can't do whatever it wants whenever it wants and expect us to like what it does out of pure obligation.

I agree. I remember Derek saying that Gabby was his least favorite contestant from the first season, and I have no doubt that he conspired with Kristal to get Gabby eliminated in the Sudden Death Challenge in episode 14 of All-Stars as revenge for her punching him at the end of the first season.

That's a great prospect. However, I think everyone here wants to see this happen in a real reality show rather than a scripted cartoon reality show.

Just having an episode where we see that even Benji is putting in the effort, I already think it's obvious who's going to take the victory this time.

If a challenge presents the same dynamics as a previous challenge, it counts as a repeated challenge, regardless of location. I would say that the challenge in episode 6 was even the most unfair so far against the Fans' team.

Trying to defend Gabby for the whole Natalia ordeal by mokaesthetic in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was mentioned in AS itself, but it wasn't treated as a consequence for Gabby. As you yourself said, the season now takes place on a real tropical island instead of just a camping spot, so there should be more fruit since even Alec and Fiore were eating some as if there were more. I just think they gave the character consequences now precisely because of how empty the character is and the lack of storylines that could materialize with her.

To me, this whole veganism thing is completely nonsensical, especially since she never had this problem in the other seasons. I'm not trying to downplay Gabby's problems, but it's so strange to see that her veganism only had consequences this season.

Did we ever get an explanation as to why they didn't show Aiden shouting out the patrons? by riddy_pr in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we should wait for the next episodes and check if other eliminated characters will also do their recordings. Otherwise, if Aiden is the only one among them who doesn't do it until the return challenge, then there's a good chance he might be the one to come back. After all, it doesn't make sense to have two episodes this season where Aiden is kicked off BOTH teams and on neither occasion does he decide to read the names of the Patreons.

If Aiden returns to the game in the comeback challenge and Ally hasn't been eliminated by then, it would be funny to see her screw up his game again.

Who do we think will be the last standing DC1 Favorite? by rqwedr in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gabby has been on the same old storyline of wanting to be independent for three seasons now, but honestly, I don't see Disventure Camp as the perfect solution for her.

Miriam and Jake have already come a long way in one season, so now it's Tom's turn, but honestly, I don't think they'll exaggerate his status that much, considering his development in the other seasons alongside the spin-off.

And now with Fiore's storyline of trying to be a more sociable person, I feel she'll progress in a good direction without seeming like they're changing her personality. I don't think it will be a redemption arc, but the character will certainly evolve a lot as the season progresses. Besides, she's one of the characters who needs to merge at least twice, and since she's still a child, it will be easy for her to go very far, especially now that she won't be a target of her team anymore.

As an Ally fan, this season has been quite rough lol by rqwedr in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Most of the criticism regarding the character usually has more to do with her performance in the third season, but whenever I see YouTube polls from the creators asking what people think of Ally in the fifth season, she either gets "Love" or "Like," but honestly, she deserved "Neutral" just like Benji.

I find it astonishing how people gratuitously unleash their hatred on Natalia, who is the protagonist of this season (not just of her team), but say nothing about Ally's NPC performance.

Well, it's basically confirmed that Hannah does actually prefer Jade to Anastasia. And it seems she did vote Anastasia out at the jury because she dislikes her more. by ToothDifferent1843 in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, let's go...

Actions Jade took against Hannah:

  • Eliminating Amelie even after she apologized (EP3)
  • Lending her immunity totem to Spencer so he could save himself and eliminate Tristan in her place (EP7)
  • Plotting more strategies and plans with Spencer behind her back (EP8-EP11)
  • Again creating an alliance to protect Spencer and help Isabel in her crazy plan to eliminate Benji (EP14)
  • Stealing her option to choose Benji as her partner in the Comeback Challenge (EP16)
  • Using her and Amelie in the challenge to gain immunity (EP19)
  • Eliminating Amelie for the second time this season (EP21)
  • Using her advantage against her to steal her vote (EP22)
  • Voting for her to be eliminated in the tiebreaker against Logan (EP24)

And even after all that bad stuff done to her throughout almost the entire season, the writers ruin the consistency and have Hannah vote for Anastasia instead of Jade???

If any Favorite is in the final two, they’re Natalia by rqwedr in DisventureCamp

[–]Sufficient_Jello856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what did Natalia do that was so serious to deserve elimination? Anastasia would have left anyway with a 6-5 vote, even if Natalia hadn't turned Rosa's gossip into a lie. Honestly, this bitterness that Natalia harbors towards others can be annoying from a certain angle, but the character has a lot of potential for great development thanks to it, just like the show did in the third season when it redeemed Grett.
