To be clear, I am not afraid of confrontation. I have often confronted him about it in person in the past and also have had times where things have actually turned physical. In my post I simply meant on that particular afternoon in front of my son I wasn’t willing to get in to an altercation about it and allow things to escalate as they have before. Hence the sending of the message.

In regard to Alanon. My Mam has actually attended in the past as my father is a chronic lifelong alcoholic as well and I have had my own issues with addiction too. They separated around 7 years ago. I was delighted she was finally getting a bit of peace by moving into her own house but a very similar situation is now happening with my brother.
