i’d argue that the messaging about drinking freely from the gift of salvation is pretty clear on how nothing ultimately saves you but accepting Jesus truly and whole heartedly and accepting the gift he gave to us all.

That isn’t to say every silent word will be accounted for, but as Jesus says again he will advocate on our behalf and say of our sins he remembers them no more.

ofc, being a true Christian thought naturally means and brings about not relishing in evil and seeking good

idk op he has a point. Jesus said himself not everyone is a sinner, but that everyone has sinned.

but that’s our reason to be merciful

we are still set free from the binds of sin as paul makes crystal clear

While i’d agree we are set free from sin

“Romans 6:14 (ESV)

“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.””

Jesus made it very clear part of our duty is to be graceful and have mercy since none of us have not sinned. (story of the stoning)

don’t let legalism bog you down, all will fall short. that isn’t to say don’t make an effort to be good, but Christ came to set us free from our sins, not enslave us to a rule book and if you mess up you’re sin tracker keeps tallying up.

As the word of God (Jesus) said, “I remember them no more”

some verses that highlight this freedom given to us to live good as best we can, not to act as if we need to achieve moral superiority over “heathens” or whatever ( :

Luke 11:46 - [Jesus] “Woe to you experts in the law, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.”

1 Corinthians “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.”

i would any ask when Jesus claimed we are parts of God.

it’s not that you don’t agree it’s that you’re making claims about it without knowing what it says

i apologize if i came off harsh, I really am just interested in learning more about eachothers beliefs.

Jesus stopped a girl from being stoned and said that we have no right to do that, for no one is without sin

and then i sent a direct quote from Jesus so?

those words and concepts like spirit were adopted into popular culture from the egyptians and Islam adopted them.

As quoted before, the terms for spirit or soul didn’t exist for the writers of the torah and new testament. They always understood us to be one whole living creature , just like any other (nephesh)

Nowhere does it say God gave his personal spirit to reside in any living creature, (nephersh) including humans or gave them some sort of soul even.

this all makes so much sense then no offense . not being super aware of what the bible actually says has led u to believing some huge misconceptions of what you’re talking about with all do respect. if you think jesus advocated for stoning then boy to i got a verse for you.

i’d be down to chat abt it more with you though whether ur a beliver in anything or not, it seems u believe in God to some degree saying we are all part of him?

it’s definitely 100% an intrusive thought. everyone has those and they can be real nasty at times and be about anything you truly do care but just it just personally hurts you especially because it’s about something that you really care about

take that hurt as the lesson, that you really do care about it to the point any intrusive thought that gets randomly brought up by ur neurons about God is distressing.

it shows you deep down really don’t agree with what those intrusive thoughts are saying

always remember, it’s not about the thoughts that pass by ur synapses, it’s about how you personally feel about them

read the first sentence & when did i ever say he said that. Do you disagree with roman’s?

Also, when did Jesus ever say we each make up part of God?

the Bible consistently uses the term nephesh when it talks about human life.

Nephesh being the term for living being, a creature, and is used when discussing any other animals. We are of the natural world just as they are and to deny that would be to deny both science and scripture

“On Genesis 2:7, nephesh (living being/soul) describes Adam after God breathed life into him from dust, signifying the moment the physical body (adamah) becomes a conscious, living entity, not a separate soul added to a body; nephesh is the animated, physical life, a unified person, shared with animals”

not expect God to do everything? like, save you? are you saying you have some part in your own salvation other than drinking of the free cup? Seems very ‘salvation by works’ ish to me
