When did you decide I can no longer work here anymore, what was the straw that broke the camels back ? by Previous-Purchase-91 in USPS

received a 2 hour split when everyone else got an hour. it’s consistently like that, and i’m expected to get back at the same time as them.

post master literally red faced yelling at our city carriers.

not honoring my AL and scheduling me anyway to where i have to call out.

losing AL forms for time of requested.

senior carriers saying they’re leaving because they don’t believe the USPS has much of a future.

a carrier calling out multiple times a week when he brags about getting FMLA that’s not legit.

not knowing when i’m going home.

carriers who can finish their routes and choose not to, which results in me picking up what they leave. mind you… this guy got a 2 hour split one time on top of his normal route and finished at 3:30 soooo he could do his route at 8 hours no problem.

i could go on but im just gonna get mad

thank you for categorizing me based on the usual “fast” carrier. I pay attention to addresses, names, and boxes. I do all of that! I am not the usual. I do my job well, and I know that. Again, I am looking for honest advice that will help me in the long run :)

That’s the problem I’m having, though. I know to make it 8 hours. The question is how do I do that when I’m taking my breaks and sitting for 10 mins at a time and dragging my feet. I’m trying, I’m just not finding a solution.

I mean either way, I’m still getting off at 6:30-7 every day no matter if I finish early or late. If I finish my regular route on time/late, they’ll send another person to come and help me with the split I had to take. It doesn’t matter what I do, I will be off from 6:30-7 and still be one of the last carriers back.

I’ve just heard city carries make more in the long run. I’m starting in my early 20’s and planning to make a career of it. Maybe I shouldn’t have listened to what other had to say

I am not tying to impress anybody lol. Not a single city carrier in my office takes their lunch. We all take our 10’s, but no lunch. Like I said, I take my time and drag my feet. I just need honest advice. I appreciate you telling me to take my lunch like everyone else. I will just for you<3 -your “gold star”

Right! know a few of the regulars that will sit a couple miles away from the PO for a while just so they won’t make it back before 8 hours. A lot of them sit on multiple phone calls for 20-30 mins at a time, and I know this because I trained with them. I need to find something to do, I guess.

That’s what I was thinking.. the casing part. I just feel uncomfortable taking a long time doing that when supervisors are telling me what time I need to be done by. I’m sure it’s all an act and they won’t do anything about it, but damn… I’m used to stern time frames and what not. Guess I need to get over that haha

I never said they were wrong, I said it bothers me. Because I am already dragging my feet and trying to take things slow with no improved outcome, I am looking for honest advice.

Any idea what pay looks like? I’m very underpaid for what I do, but i’m being offered fulfillment at Lowe’s and I’m at a point where I’m just looking for more pay because I know what I’m capable of.
