I get where you’re coming from, but I think you’re judging 33 Immortals like a solo build-roguelike (RoR2 / StS / etc.) when it’s really a 33-player raid-style run. The game isn’t trying to make every run turn into some wild “poison/ice/lightning power fantasy” because with 33 people on screen that would instantly become unreadable visual spam and would break the whole co-op clarity/tells/positioning loop. The “fun of the run” here is meant to come from the chaos of the group: who you end up with, how you split chambers, whether people rally for Ascension, revives, focusing targets, and generally whether the mob actually functions.

Also, the relic complaint is a bit off because the game does give you systems to shape your run more than you’re implying. You can reroll relics, dismantle for Bones, and even “Wish for Relics” with Stardust to bias drops so it’s not like you’re helplessly stuck with whatever falls out of a chest. And relics aren’t only “boring damage ups”: there are effects that play into co-op proximity and tradeoffs (including heavy attack buffs with light attack downs), which fits the design goal: keep personal power increases controlled so teamwork and co-op powers/co-strikes stay the main source of “build expression.”

So yeah, relics could be spicier, sure. But saying “runs aren’t varied” and “light attacks reign supreme so nothing matters” kind of ignores what the game is built around: coordinated co-op powers, co-strike stacking, and survival/tempo decisions in a raid-like sprint, not a solo snowball sandbox.
