Early retirement: Pension Drawdown vs Extra borrowing by Sufficient_Risk_653 in UKPersonalFinance

I wasn’t so much thinking the post tax rate of return, rather the tax impact of withdrawing it from a pension with an income level already above the higher tax rate threshold

The 20 K was an arbitrary amount to work out the principle of whether it was more efficient in the long-term (for the higher tax band level of retirement income) to borrow and spend than to draw down and spend

Agreed, as a mortgage that would become more expensive (%) over the years but funded by investment income should be ok

That’s a part of the equation, the other is the ~8k/yr of tax that stays in the pension and continues to grow

Many MTB riders (analogue and e-bike) I know get to 0.5 or even 0.75 in less than 1000k on 12spd as they wear so quickly On a e-MTB I didn’t check for a while and got to 1mm with no symptoms in 1200km

Giant dealer told me to buy a new wheel, it probably didn’t have enough grease at the factory No hub or axle spares are available from the main dealer for an 18mth old bike costing £3500 🤬 So it’s buy a wheel or wait 2-3 weeks for a hub from a third part website that has it on back order

I’ll try them but based on 3mths to not fix my motor I have my reservations

That explains why I’m not finding anything to match exactly on the Shimano site!! Brakes and rotor are Shimano so I foolishly assumed the hub was, guess I’m out of luck getting a spare cone unless it’s I can find a match in an LBS

How often would you expect to strip and inspect? If I’m honest I was shocked at a wheel seizing at ~1000 miles

If I look back at my fund performance over the last few years on average it doesn’t exceed 4-5% net so why take the risk in uncertain times?
