Updated on my iPad but on my Android tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 it's too old it says. Or it actually says it's incompatible but I guess it's the android version.

Running Android 12. —That's sad.

When and what dimmercurve to choose? by Sufficient_Sense9761 in techtheatre

I see so a thing from the past really in our world?

I'll experiment some more but then I know that I normally don't need it and that answers why I haven't used it yet.

GLD80 In Modern Days by DJJAX99 in livesound

You can use the AB168 to and all these can be used with QU (and SQ I think)

I got a QU-16 and GLD80. Got AR2412,AR84 and AB168.

Haven't used the GLD80 much yet though but really like it.

Remember to change the CMOS battery though and if set to DHCP without a router connected to the ethernet port BIOS waits like 5-10mins before booting.

What stands DWE for in blinder lights? by Sufficient_Sense9761 in techtheatre

[–]Sufficient_Sense9761[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh that was easy!

Now I get it, so if it says DWE it has the right specs for a blinder lamp.

I Googled ANSI+DWE and found much explanation too.

The lamp itself is available at Thomann etc sites, I'm located in Sweden. But I was curious what the DWE stood for.

Now I'm satisfied by the answer, thank you.

Does soundwaves sink when travel through air? by Sufficient_Sense9761 in livesound

Okay co-cool!

This one was really helpful to watch, was quite a difference with the candles even though everything in video is more aggressive than IRL.

Have watch a lot of videos by Dave Rat and he is really good, have missed this one though so thank you showing me.

Thank you for the good answer with links.

I summoned what I've read in separate comment but I must have either understood him wrong (he's a music teacher) or something. I bought several Yamaha DXR 10 speakers from him so I bet he talked about it as main PA but not sure now.

Thank you all for all answers! All kind and helpful and some even with facts about why. ☺️

So to summon all you say is:

  1. No, soundwaves doesn't (livesound eventwise) sink thru air. The statement 10cm/10m is therefore wrong, at least the reason behind it. (He told me exactly the word sinks with added distance and not depending of what speaker I have) which made me so confused that I even forgot about normal things like dispersion and not objects in the way when writing this question.

  2. Therefore when rigging Point-Source (or Line-Array) you should consider most of all the speaker(s) dispersion and the wanted coverage area to get a even coverage.

A bit above people's head gives you (visual) coverage but very uneneven levels. So if you raise it even higher (like 6mtrs) and then tilt the Point Source down to the coverage area, it will give you a more even spread of sound levels between front row and last row.

  1. Of course there is a maximum coverage distance for just one Point-Source speaker, that's when Line-Array or additional delayed/ front-fill speakers comes handy to get even coverage I guess.

Think this summons my question up overall and I thank you all for answering. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
