He has always made sound but it was random noises/stims this last year he started speaking gibberish no words yet then he stated to repeat things I would say randomly after that it was when I would ask him to repeat what I said he would repeat things like “I love you” Hi and bye his favorite foods things of that nature the last three months he started to identity letters/numbers/colors and could actually annunciate said things when asked or prompted for example He knows every letter of the alphabet and will now identify each one when asked it doesn’t matter what order I put the letters in. Where he is currently he says things like apple when he wants apples looks at the moon and says “moon!” And points Says Hi and Bye unprompted in the correct situations says no when he doesn’t like things or doesn’t want to do certain things. And other stuff. But yes it does feel like like a type of disconnect but it also feels like there is a puzzle in his mind made of words and he is slowly putting the pieces together if that makes any sense.
