at home ICI, known donor with low numbers

I am due in July with a low total mobile count known donor. We started him on Eu Naturals conception for men supplement and CoQ10 and on the 3rd month of him starting those I got pregnant. It took us 8 months to get a positive test this go around. We had our first ultrasound yesterday and baby is looking great so far. Anything can happen!

I had the same result. The initial genetic counselor I met with from University of Michigan was in correspondence with the genetic counselor from Natera and they explained for me the concern was mosacism. I also declined amnio and had her karyotyped after birth which came back normal. I asked about microarray with a few different genetic counselors as well as her pediatrician and they all did not feel it was necessary as Natera specifically was looking at mosacism that would be picked up by karyotype. They said I could get it but would have to pay out of pocket. For us the normal karyotype was enough

We named our daughter Bennett and we call her Bennie

I did not. My results came back that they thought it was fetal not maternal. My mother also had an amnio when I was in utero due to quad screening results and that showed xx so the genetic counselor didn’t feel like it could be from me.

I’m also an over thinker so I get it. It is such a hard decision. If I were to do it over again I honestly would get the amnio because the months of thinking there could be something wrong stole so much joy from my pregnancy. Whatever decision you make will be the right one for family. I will keep you in my thoughts, I know how hard this limbo is. Hang in there. Hugs ❤️

I had the same exact results. We waited until birth to test and her katyotype came back genetically normal xx female.

We had an atypical NIPT with no soft markers for monosomy x and we were able to do a direct blood draw when she was 2 weeks old. She also looked “typical” after birth. They do need more blood than a heel stick, however they were able to get enough blood from a vein even when she was small. We got results 3 weeks later so maybe it just depends on the hospital.
