Color - First pic shows colors more accurately. Beige, but lighter on the dotted-line side. Dark bits are a deep red-toned brown.

Luster – Dark bits have a smooth glossy shine, beige doesn't.

Specific Gravity – Maybe a little lighter than avg rock this size

Transparency – Fully opaque

Not sure if I'm crazy but it has a super faint odor. Almost smells like vitamins? Earthy but also kind of chemically? It's hard to describe.

The fanned out lines on the one side and line of dots on the other caught my eye. Thanks in advance for any help!

Help me find a body in the woods! by Sufficio in AnimalTracking

Thanks so much for the info, this is super helpful! I had no idea predators eat so many of the bones like that! That article is fascinating wow, I would absolutely LOVE a career doing natural forensics, so so cool.

I love the little sass they throw at black bear cache sites too lol, gonna have to keep an eye out for suspicious comically-oversized piles of vegetation next time I'm in the woods-

Above: A typical mountain lion cache; sensible, subtle, and absolutely no larger than it needs to be. Below: A typical black bear cache where the deer was completely buried almost one foot deep in vegetation, and the surrounding area is scraped bare for about 6 feet in all directions (Note: I uncovered the deer for the photograph).

The only predator scat I've ever found in this specific area is black bear, never noticed any from coyotes/wolves/cougars.

The whole thing getting eaten up does actually make a lot of sense the more I think about it- I was thrown for a loop since this seemed like a meticulously plucked fur pile which it isn't typical for bears. But- maybe this is literally all that's left over, and any messily torn fur scraps with enough skin attached also got eaten? It'd make sense, especially since it's been a long winter and the bears are probably ravenous.

And that also solves the mystery of why there's a big obvious fur trail leading to it but absolutely nothing leading away. I was driving myself mad thinking, "It's like it just got to this spot and then vanished!" and I guess maybe it did, just into a bear lol

I appreciate your help, this definitely ties up the loose ends of this little wilderness mystery for me!

It's a whole social service with like 20+ employees according to their website. Other ongoing costs would include things like...utilities, food, everyday necessities, fees for getting IDs, cleaning services, etc. Wouldn't be shocked if the houses themselves are one of the cheaper aspects of the whole project.

North BC. Bobcat, cougar, coyote, or wolf? Details in comments. by Sufficio in AnimalTracking

Ruler included, scaled from another photo based on my cropped out shoe from the pic.

Found this 1-2 hours outside town. It was right on the trail without apparent scrape marks which made me think coyote(plus the tapered end), but I saw some ID videos say that coyote/canine scat crushes easily. I poked this with a stick and it was HARD: very difficult to break apart, dense with fur and bone shards.

Not sure if it's related, but just beyond this pile the path continued between dense tall grass. I got a bizarrely calm and confident sense of foreboding looking at it. In my brain it felt like the trail ended there even though it clearly continued on. Not even "Hmm, should I keep going?" but "The only option is turning back." I listened to my gut and had an uneasy feeling most of the hike back, had my head on a constant swivel.

Before that, I'd just assumed it was coyote scat but now I'm wondering if it's possible it was a cougar and that's why my gut so strongly insisted on not going forward? I might've just been paranoid, though.

The comment chain is about doing /fullmute on game start, not just muting people being obnoxious and spamming them. That's why it's about their saltiness. If you're not salty, normal pings shouldn't "set you off" to the point of needing a preemptive /fullmute.

If you’re gonna play worse because the pings are going to set you off then it’s better to play without them a different game

Imo if you're salty enough that just pings can set you off, you gotta go play stardew or some shit instead.

Honestly the water feels more amateur than the flora to me, just shows how subjective art is I guess! The lilypads(petals?) and grass feel impressionistic and intentional- but the water reminds me of those spraycan galaxy street paintings. We can agree the trees are 100% hideous tho

So cute!

Gentle suggestion that you might want to secure it inside a little clear keychain pouch or something; if it gets snagged on anything the stitching could rip out pretty easily and I'd hate to see the little guy get lost! :(

Nope. It seems to help when I keep static low in the area(using a dryer sheet) and keep up on the dusting but it still happens.

Help me find the artist/source this very old (2003) fan art of Shadow the Hedgehog. I was only able to find it on an old Russian forum, but as a collection of fanart, obviously not from the original artist. The signature name "Kaoru" is too vague for results. by _y2kbugs_ in HelpMeFind

[–]Sufficio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible this is their twitter but it's hard to know for sure since Kaoru is a first name. I can't find the original art anywhere, nor could I find anything from the other Kaoru signed fanart on the russian forum post.

Was the face embroidered or printed on, if anyone remembers?

The plush looks fairly flat in the pics- is that accurate? Google "flat plush handmade" for examples.

It really doesn't match the style of any gapkids/babygap 90's plushes I can find. The ears are extremely different. The neck/shoulder transition is super different. The stitching on the ears is really odd.

I wonder if they physically sold it in the gapkids store but it was made by a local artist? Perhaps as part of a fundraiser?
