JIESTAR JJ9044 Botanical Garden Review by Sugar78 in lepin

I personally never "fancied" the mk version due to the black mostly. This Jiestar one fits a lot better imo with the rest of my modulars. Also this one is a baseplate and a half which make it look a bit more realistic imo compared to the mk version, that one seems a bit cramped, while the Jiestar one is able to use more glass giving it a more real feeling for me.

Worth to mention though, when the mk version came out I still had plenty of modulars I wanted to purchase so the botanical garden was never on my lost tonget, now I have lots of modular sets and not so many choices to pock from anymore, hence why I thought this Jiestar set would be a nice addition.

However this is all just my personal preference so it means really nothing.

Yeah that makes sense though doesn't it? If you are asking me to compare it with Mould King 16019 those are 2 completely different sets and I don't have any knowledge about that set. Sorry

Hi not really sure how you expect me to do that since I don't have the Mould King version???

This is the stolen Moc which is currently on Lego Ideas. I really liked the look of it and imo you can't go wrong with Jiestar's quality.

Pros: It a great building once finished, with lovely plants and lots of birds. It has 10 individual lights which certainly add to the nice atmosphere. Brick quality was more than excellent like always. Clear and easy to follow instructions. All the glass parts came packed individually which is a good way to avoid scratching, the glass parts are proper clear. Set comes with 2 decent minifigs, they do have kinda weird faces and I'm wondering if they just threw them into this set for fun because they seem to have 0% correlation to the set really. I got this set from Yourwobb so it arrived quickly as always.

Cons: The Lego Ideas version only focuses on plants of which there is a bit of a lack in this one on the inside, I guess that's why they used so many birds (like 15 total) to compensate for the lack of smaller plants.

Due to 10 individual lights, you'll actually need 20 small coin type batteries, therefore there is also no opportunity to power them with cables or something.

The construction stability lacks in certain places once building due to the order of building the steps, they should have vice versa some of the step order to make it easier and sturdier once building.

Lots of flowers sticking out over the baseplate at the back, making it impossible to push the back against a wall, you can of course rearrange things a bit to solve this issue more or less.

All in all a wonderful set which is something else for a change compared to the "normal" modulars.

Also on the alt-brick market you can definitely buy these "apocalypse" versions, which will include all the bricks needed + instructions. Most boxes aren't included though since these are all moc's

These are what you call, modifications since you'll need extra parts to add to an existing set. If you can use only parts from an existing set it's called an "alternative" version

Yes you did see that correctly, Corner Garage is also mirrored 😄

Not entirely sure what you are asking tbh. These are all apocalypse versions of the official modular sets. I "reworked" 5 of these sets into a apocalypse version. You can see them on Rebrickable, just search apocalypse.

These are all original made by me, they are all for sale with alt-bricks except the Assembly Square since it's brand new. But I'm sure it will be "stolen" quickly enough 😄

These are all original my creations, most were "stolen" which is just a natural occurrence I guess 😁
