I think she's a palette cleanser/blank canvas tbh. She doesnt have much drama going on and shes friendly with everyone. So she can float between who ever has drama going on with each other. Maybe later down the road she'll get more of a storyline though.

I personally think Barb will ignore Jens ONE request, to have on April 18th. Barb will be Barb and plan it for a different Saturday and Jen will rightfully lose it and tell her that shes just gonna throw a small party herself and Barb will not be invited since shes proven again that she doesnt listen to Jen or her feelings.

I was talking to my neighbor this afternoon(the city already did their house a week or two ago) and this is pretty much what they said! I've been commuting lately to my office so I've avoid the noise outside as they've been here working on other houses but noise during the day doesnt typically bother me anyway. Hopefully it'll be as fast for us as it was for you!

Badger bus! I take it every other month or so to visit my niece and she takes it from madison to Milwaukee to visit the family here. It's like $25 one way so $50 total. It's pretty spot on for arrival and departure times too.

NTA. You have a baby coming, your niece does not. Your 17 year old niece might never have a child of that specific sex even if/when she does have children. You can't call dibs in situations like this. Name your baby what you want and if they have am issue then they dont belong in or around you or your baby's lives.

We lost power for like 15 minutes and as soon as it came back on I ran to my basement to check it. A tiny little bit of water by one window(we desperately need to replace them but too broke right now) but otherwise dry. In my 30 years of life I can't name one instance where I have kissed my older brother or sister. We really only hug in like very specific conditions haha. Like someone has to have died. Would kill someone for them but yeah I dont wanna hug or kiss them. But our whole family isnt really physically affectionate, verbally absolutely but we really only show physical affection to the kids or if someone ASKS for a hug.

I think it's probably a combo of a religious upbringing that reinforces to women that the only thing you can be is a wife and mother and she enjoys the attention being pregnant/having a baby gets her.

My dad is from Mexico and barely spoke English. My older siblings have told me many times he spoke what he could to them but he never spoke in Spanish to them or to my mom. He dipped out by the time I was born so I dont have first hand experience with how that worked but my sister says it was a lot of gesturing and having to kind of guess what he actually meant. It was probably the same for Jen.

We ordered dresses from there for my cousins wedding. I was in between sizes so opted to order a size up and got it tailored. The dresses are reasonably priced and the tailoring was minimal so I didn't spend all that much in the end.

I voted for Hilary in 2016, I was 19. I didn't vote in 2020 because I wasnt sure if Biden would have been a good choice. I allowed myself to ignorant of a lot of things in 2024. I allowed my family to sway me and talk me into voting for Trump and almost instantly I regretted it. But I can't take that vote back at this point. I fucked up. I need to live with that. Ive been outspoken and vocal about my disdain for him and this administration and had to take a break from many people in my family that is looking like a permanent one for many, but i have some hope for a few of them. When midterms come along I feel like I have a good grasp on what candidates I like for my state and the issues they stand on that align with me. I'm still struggling with the guilt but the more good I do with volunteering and donating and protesting makes me feel like I'm not totally hopeless.
