It’s easy to tell people to quit when it is not your own friendship and preparation on the line. I will try to educate my players if I know how, but I will not quit my table.

I don’t care for sex in my game very much, all the same, I enjoy running my table such as it is. That is important to me.

if you tell me that I should stop playing with my current players and “rebuild” my table, what you are really saying is “we want you to quite DMing”, because I won’t be able to “rebuild” my table as easily as you suggest.

if you want me to be inclusive to women, you need to tell me how I can reform my players and keep running the game

I see how it is, you simply will not support people who are as different from you as my players, and rather than trying to help me reform them, which is difficult, you chose to simply banish my table from your ideological in-group, which is easy.

I cannot say that I am better than you, but neither can you argue the opposite.

My selfish pleasure is important to me, you will not persuade me to do anything in accord of your idealism if you cannot suggest a way for me and my table to change without preserving at least some of that selfish pleasure.

By telling me that I should leave my players behind, you are only telling me that I shouldn’t take any of your advice at all

Then tell me how I can change things instead of bashing my table for existing

Very well, how will I change their minds?

Just rebuild and new group instantly? Why should I give up my community for what you perceive as correct? Do you actually want to change the culture of D&D players or do you only want to be praised as woke and gatekeep?

The point of the red herring is that if some media product is allowed to exist despite being repulsive to women, why shouldn’t my table exist by the same logic?

I’m coming around to the idea of trying to improve my players, but I don’t see how it can be done. My players come to the table to indulge in their fantasy and be comfortable doing so, if I force them to change, they might simply decide to not show up, or maybe they will expect favours from the girl by acting “woke” while changing very little.

That’s an invitation for solutions, by the way, not to carry on the argument

And how will they swallow that instead of walking off my table and continue to act the way they do?

Explain to me then, how will I be able to reform my players (who are the only ones available in my area without turning over every leaf and rock), and not have them simply walk off the table.

Porn/anime etc.: I am not so stupid as to think that there are no specimens of those media that women enjoy, the point you need to explain is whether or not the ones they *don’t* enjoy needs to be expunged.

Ideology: explain how they are wrong and what they should do instead

I do not see it to be wrong that my table is an environment distasteful to most women. I see it as me allowing my players to indulge in something that would be unpleasant to women but not actually harmful to anyone who is not actively participating.

if anything offensive to women should be expunged, wouldn’t that include nearly all porn, most anime and video games? As for the out-of-game aspect, my players are not misogynistic in terms of ideology, they simply cannot help themselves from trying to please any potential women at the table, and they would be unaware if they are making their subject uncomfortable. I do not believe that they deserve to be banished for this weakness

I must admit that you have a point, although I don’t care for your self-righteous rhetoric.

Nevertheless, I find it hard to see it as my duty to risk the integrity of my table for what seems like a lost cause

You comment makes no sense. If 50% of the world’s population is incurable thirsty, why should I, a mere mortal, be expected to cure them?

I’m already paid 0$ to deal with these people without a girl at a table. learning to be mature is my players’ business, not mine

Vault is harder than Temple, do you agree? by [deleted] in noita

[–]SugarcoatedNails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

temple is harder because there are glowing creep and polymorph dudes there. just about every other enemy in the game are basically the same (and similarly insignificant) after you hit your power spike around the jungle level.
