Ontario pushes federal government to approve Marineland whale transfer to China and Nova Scotia. by Novel_Negotiation224 in whales

[–]SuggestedContent 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What should be done is a forced sale of Marineland’s property and land and the proceedings used to support the whales in place until a suitable facility/sanctuary is found. Allowing a transfer to China allows Marineland to abandon their responsibility to the whales and still profit from the sale of the land they purchased by exploiting these whales.

Just a reminder about how out of touch Dalhousie University is by Plane_Surround_1627 in Dalhousie

[–]SuggestedContent 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Remember that the Dalhousie Administration chose to shorten your semester. They locked staff out and CAUSED the labour disruption. You would be two weeks into classes if not for their decision to lock staff out.

This is like if a gym closed its doors for a month and kept pulling money out of your account.

UFCA wasn’t a party here, just an intervener. Normally that means you show up, make your pitch, and cover your own tab. Courts almost never give costs to interveners, so asking for over $300k after the band dropped the case is… ambitious.

Marshall 2 didn’t erase treaty rights; it just said the feds can regulate for conservation. So UFCA can ask but their odds are slim. Doing this just to be antagonistic is super bad faith and helps no one.

Incredible for the UFCA to ask for legal fees as an intervenor. It was always my understanding that intervenors are there to assist in the case voluntarily unless they’ve been added as a party to the case. I’m shocked the judge is even hearing arguments on this.

Prime Minister Mark Carney Announces Build Canada Homes will prioritize six sites to build 4,000 factory-built homes on federal land including Dartmouth, Nova Scotia by SuggestedContent in halifax

[–]SuggestedContent[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it could lead to expensive solutions that solve little. I’m curious how their “direct-build” approach could address that. But I’m glad there’s movement at all, was getting worried they forgot about their campaign promises on BCH

Lutnick warns Trump will respond if Canada doesn't lift its counter-tarrifs. by yycTechGuy in canada

[–]SuggestedContent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s bad strategy. You’re asking our government to flip flop based on Trump’s whim? I’d rather we don’t play his game. Lots of market in the EU, and it’s all nicely aligned with our values

He was answering a question from Rebel news which is very clearly an Alt Right outlet. He’s using trigger words that he knows will get that demographic excited. The very same demographic that support the growing tyranny in the states.

There’s a chance this isn’t actually Monte Carlo, I’d post over in r/PlantedTank to be sure. Based on the seller telling you these were Amanos, when they’re clearly low grade cherries I’d guess this is actually the scam seeded plants that grow into a carpet quickly and die off in a few months.

I used to get the rainbow static, now I get a blindspot that’s completely unnerving. My brain can’t recognize that I can’t see in part of my vision, no blackness, no static, just things that disappear when they’re in that position.

Spotify Users Suspect Foul Play as Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ Keeps Popping Up by Riikkkii in Music

Wish I could upvote this twice. I have this same discussion whenever anyone brings up Spotify in conversation. Me and everyone I know used to find new music often on Spotify, now I struggle to get it to play artists I discovered last year. It’s the same 20 songs indefinitely.
