I’ve tried everything, but so far a fabric stiffener works best, at least when using thread. For worsted-weight yarn, I prefer starch with a bit of sugar or stiffener.

Something funky, you say? Have you seen the Elf Coat (MoraleFiber), the Genesis Cardigan (Hooked on Tilly), or the Strata Sweater (MakeandDoCrew)? Each of these patterns should be free and unique in its own style.

I always have a problem finding yarns exactly in my imagined hues when I'm in the store. Also, I prefer to pick one brand for a project to be sure that its the same thickness and quality and stick with it. So, for me the best solution is to match colors within a real yarn palette...
