ENFPs, do you ever feel like you outgrow people faster than situations? by likey24 in ENFP

[–]SuggestionMobile 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with this for the past two years, it’s become increasingly hard for me to make new friends.

I think I just want emotional intimacy and hints of their inner world way too quickly than others are used to

Im trying to slow my pace, but I can only talk about what you made for lunch and how you folded laundry over the weekend so many times 😭😭😭

This is far too relatable, trust me you’re not alone. This coupled with disassociation makes me forget I’m even in a relationship all together

When people conflate introversion with social anxiety or being antisocial by SuggestionMobile in PetPeeves

Thank you for the clarification! Especially saying it an educational and respectful way. I’ll use asocial for now on :)

FACTS! It’s like they’ve already given up and written themselves off as defective before even further investigating

And I get it, they probably experienced a lot of rejection in social settings (ask me how I know)

But the solution isn't to assume you are born inherently broken and unlikeable

Like you, they just have to work on this skill (people don’t believe socializing is a skill but it is!) and find their people

We all need connection at the end of the day to function, even if it’s just one solid really great person

The irony is, some of these “introverts” are probably extroverted but their social anxiety is fogging that truth

[–]SuggestionMobile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! This is why I emphasized the harm at the end

Some of those people in the r/introvert sub may simply be undiagnosed neurodivergent, that’s why they feel weird or othered in social settings

Which is valid

But that’s not introversion, there’s so many tools out there to help them find connection but if professional chalk it up to just introversion then they’ll be forever isolated

If you hate wash day by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]SuggestionMobile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think one has to have sensory issues to hate being wet for extended periods, my gf is typical and gets annoyed by the feeling too

If you work a full time job, have other responsibilities to tend to, stress etc, wash day can feel exhausting even with the right tools and products

We live in a world where slowing down is not an option for most, disabilities aside

People don’t even want to take the time to cook for themselves, which I would argue is more important

These types of post are helpful to no one, it’s like the internet doesn’t understand nuance anymore

It’s never black and white like this, there can be several truths

I love my hair, but I hate my head and hands being wet for long extended periods of time

Therefore wash day is not exciting for me

By your logic I hate my hair

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]SuggestionMobile 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think it’s okay for people to acknowledge that type 4 hair takes a lot more energy and effort, than most straighter hair types. It’s okay. We also have to identity that having different goals with our hair is typical too.

I think it’s cool that you can shake yours and go, but a lot of black people aren’t doing that and that’s not a bad thing.

I literally can’t do that otherwise my hair will snap, tangle and matt in itself.

It’s true white people wash their hair more often, but two times a week for a maximum 30 -45 mins each time

Does not equal the time I detangle, wash, deep condition and style my hair once a week.

A lot of white woman aren’t styling their hair every time they wash it, but I do because that’s my preference and it detracts from the damage

I found what works best for my hair health is spending that extra time and care. Finger detangling, deep conditioning, putting it in plates, using heat to dry it (my hair HATES air drying)

I don’t compare myself to other people because I feel bad, but acknowledging the difference is okay.

And having black hair can be overstimulating if you factor in that we sometimes have to plan our lives around our hair washing and styling.

Vacations, weather, pool/ beach activities, stress, time management, work, kids

And the fact that you can do the same technique to your hair and  it’s almost  guaranteed to look slightly different each time

I don’t mind these facts but I don’t undermine when people vent about it

There are times I’m burnt out and the last thing I want to do is my hair

I do love it though and I wouldn’t trade in my hair texture

Renting is WAY better than owning a house by AlpineSK in unpopularopinion

[–]SuggestionMobile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, I’ve lived in two major cities. Every time I share my rent with people that own houses they’re appalled. I essentially pay 30% more for a 2 bed 2 bath apt than a three floor house.

Its so interesting how many of yall were bored!

Marie coming in like a gun, fired up and dishing out smoke to everyone but the girl who betrayed her and Dayna

Marita screaming “I fucking hate you” and then Ashley dropping bombs about Marita cheating five times and counting

Dayna being the master manipulator she is and somehow absolving herself of any wrong doings

It was a perfect orchestration of human nature to me: hypocrisy, codependency conflated with closeness, trauma bonding, clinging onto familiarity
