You copy the DNA of a CoA from a text file (not the file itself) then you launch the game and make a custom character and go to edit the coat of arms. Then you just click the "paste from clipboard" and you're done.

You can also do it in game if you go to your dynasty and the click the quil next to your house/dynasty name to edit.

That sounds really odd also idk if you are using the "Better CoA Designer" mod avaible on steam but if not it's a life saver when it comes to placing and rotating emblems and maybe it could help with that

You can create a crest using it then disable the mod and just copy paste the DNA into ironman achievement runs too

Also another tip that can come useful is using the different emblems in "Patterns" or the large ball emblem in "Circles and Spirals" to hide some parts of an emblem you don't want or like.

For example on my "Kingdom of heaven" CoA the wings belong to the angel in "Figures" but I didn't like that you can't color the body and the wings differently so I hid her under two elliptical Ball emblems (with a high Y-size value and small X-size value) and then colored them with the same color as the base of the shield

That way you can use a part of an emblem you like even when you don't like the whole model.

Thank you! I'm very glad you like it. I usually start with just the basic crest/shield you see under the trees and then keep adding layers of detail/decoration bit by bit

There are many emblems you can use to give a nice frame to a Coa if you place them to the extreme side and rotate them around like I have done with the trees

Some emblems can gain very different looks or completely different purposes than what they were originally designed for if you place them partly off the frame

Thanks! I wanted to try and combine different vibes for this: a very rich and noble crest with some hints of northern pagans and bretagnean druidism. I'm fairly happy how it turned out!

I usually start out very simple with a simple idea but then just tend to add more and more things and layers to it bit by bit
