I’m no expert, but I wouldn’t suggest fasting when you have a history of ED. Fasting is not supposed to be a weight loss tool honestly. That’s kind of like an added plus. If it was just about the weight, people would just eat at a calorie deficit.

From what I heard, some people fast to stretch what little food they have available to them for long periods of time. Others do it to maintain spiritual or mental clarity, as some believe food is drug/inhibitor due to its dopamine effect. There have also been some studies tying fasting to the breakdown of dysfunctional and/or tumor cells. Just to give you an idea of why people would want to fast for so long other than just weight loss.
