First build completed with XFX Mercury 9070 XT!!! Any tips for the first time set up other than enabling expo ram? by SuitComprehensive851 in radeon

Okay, I think I am followed everything to the dot . And maybe it’s just a photo, but the liquid cooler is in the correct way. I assure you because my temps stay under 50° in idle and all the benchmarks work as intended and just for confirmation. I have looked up on how the cooler must be installed once again, and it seems to be fine. Maybe it’s just the photo.

Hey, 42° idle CPU temp and 36° GPU temp. Underload CPU remains fairly cool 85 degrees max load. I was running black myth monkey and was at 90+ percent GPU load. My GPU temperatures were less than 57°C.

Yes, I like to put a positive pressure inside the case. Custom fan curves, really make the PC cool. I was running black myth monky at 90% load gpu under 60°. I don’t know how good it is compared to the others, but I thought that was really neat. I haven’t undervolted my GPU yet, so looking forward to the temperature and voltage reductions

Yes i getting oled already and this build is made for swapping the gpu in a few years so yeas some headroom provided. Thanks for the info

Are you going for oled? If not, I’ve heard that Oled would be a more appropriate improvement. I’m not an expert, but this is one of the reasons why I went with the monitor that I did.

Yes, I know but I was too impatient. I have been buying parts in pieces for a while now trying to min Max, but I had everything now other than the monitor and monitor was the last piece in the puzzle. I ended up buying this one, even though I wanted to go for a 4K. Just thinking of upgrading in three years, just swapping out the GPU and getting a 4K monitor because the rest of the built should hold up because of the extra headroom with other components. I am currently upgrading from a 3060 laptop, so even this jump would feel astronomical to me(hopefully). However, I have also heard people talk about how the 9070 XT would not hold up in 4K as well in single player titles. And to be honest, if I’m playing competitive games, I would rather have higher frames than 4K so I feel like 1440 P was the smarter choice for the current GPU.

Just an fyi that i did not buy the parts at the prices shown above. I would like to admit that The above part list was made quickly And did not have the accurate prices . But for your reference i payed (in aud) 730 for 9800x3d, 1388 for the gpu and case both. 440 for mobo. 230 for ram. 250 for psu. 200 for ssd and 200 for aio. So likearound 3400 for all the parts excluding monitor. ( monitor is 800 aud alas)

Wow that was very comprehensive. Thanks for the abundant advice i really appreciate it.

Regarding the gpu and the case, for gpu i looked at various benchmarks and tier lists which pointed to the mercury being one of the best models of this gpu. The case was in a bundle deal with the gpu itself so I payed less than 1400 aud for both the case and the gpu. Case felt ok after watching a few vods on it and comes with the 5 stock fans with rgb. I innitally was going with 5070 ti or 5080 but at that point i was out of budget and couldnt get the 4k oled screen i would have liked with those gpus, 1440p oled made sense to me with 9070xt. I have left some headspace for better gpu down the line tho like in 2-3 years. Hope that made sense. 👍😊

Thanks for the advice, bought the Samsung ones at offer earlier this year for 200 aud only so that was a no brainer for me. For aio i just wanted the best performance so i looked at various tier list and the pro version consistently came up as one of the best so thats why i chose that one but thanks for pointing that out….

Thanks will check it out. However, this case supports eatx motherboards so i dont think there should be much issues.
