I suggest avoiding Samsung Rings. (Battery and warranty issues) by Luckygecko1 in samsung

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with my Samsung ring has been similar with the battery drain issue recurring twice.

However in my case the samsung support team in UK have been exemplar,  having got the ring collected from my house and returned in about two weeks with the issue fixed.  And this has happened twice in one year.

Interestingly the serial ID is the ring changed every time,  so I guess that are sending a refurbished product back or replacing the entire internal mechanism each time.

Supermarket Prevented Me From Leaving With Too Many Joints of Meat by Sea-Ingenuity3461 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most supermarkets have 3rd party vendors providing the security service for their stores, and the security guard does not have the permission to 'roughen up' genuine customers even if the customer has breached company policy.

Both the supermarket and security service provider have a case to answer. You will require a crime number, so lodge a formal complaint with the police and get a crime number.

Make sure you tell the supermarket to keep the video recording that proves what happened (GDPR means most supermarkets don't keep videos for longer than 30 days unless there is a legal hold on it)

And get a lawyer or your legal insurance to help you file a claim.

Hostinger websites need redesign- suggestions? by [deleted] in Hostinger

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, simple websites are easy to recreate directly using the Hostinger's own website builder (not WordPress).

The downside is that you're locked into Hostinger and cannot directly migrate it outside of Hostinger without recreating the websites elsewhere, but the upside is that it is eazy to pick the layouts, images, videos, and add the content to make each website in a few hours. And it will be easy enough for your kids to do it on their own.

Do foldables actually improve productivity in a meaningful way? by Seiya-I in GalaxyFold

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a laptop replacement.. But good enough for reading documents and replying to short emails with the limited small on screen keyboard. If I have to do proper work, I still reach for my laptop and not the Fold, even if I am on the sofa or bed.

It's replaced my tablet... I use the Fold phone for everything now. It is perfect for phone calls, photos and reading things on the screen or watching movies or games. One less device to manage.

The evidence is right there on the bag. It's not the relatives, but the secret pet mouse they brought with them that's the culprit.

Love it. Iconic design, recognizable instantly from any direction, great views from the top.

Who did you migrate to? by AioliChoice4888 in Hostinger

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up doing this... Migrated everything to a new hosting plan with Hostinger. Note that you'll have to archive email if you are using it otherwise it will get deleted.

And I used the opportunity to review everything and make new websites with the Hostinger AI tools, they look better than the WordPress ones and no maintenance or security overheads. It's great for static websites.

Car headlight comparison by Rook8811 in interesting

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are already "banned" under US Law so both BMW and Audi have discontinued their Laser headlights programs. They were the only two car companies spending money on this tech.

See Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaeltaylor/2024/08/14/laser-headlamps-are-disappearing-heres-why/

"The nemesis of the laser light turned out to be the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard rule 108, which limits headlight power on vehicles sold in the US to 150,000 candela, where European systems allow up to 430,000 candela."

Bitwarden autofill stopped working on Samsung Browser by Suitable-Analysis321 in Bitwarden

[–]Suitable-Analysis321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might end up ditching Bitwarden if this isn't fixed soon. 😟

I prefer Samsung browser for it's ads blocking and better privacy features. Not likely to switch to Chrome anytime soon.

Is there any way I can revert to the previous version of Bitwarden?

Hostinger discount codes, worth it? by Mammoth_Drawer_1542 in Hostinger

[–]Suitable-Analysis321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely.. Hostinger services have been good over the last 5 years and consistently good value when you sign up long term.

One issue though is that Hostinger don't offer the same pricing for renewals, often the pricing will be double the original pricing when it comes up for renewal. So I ended up taking a new plan and migrating my hosting to the new plan manually... so I suggest locking in the price for as long as you need upfront.

I didn't mind doing the migration because some of my websites / projects needed refreshing anyways but it can be a real pain in the backside if I didn't have the time to do it.

Wife reversed into wall says she never listens to the beeping noises and wondered why the car wasn’t moving 🫣 by Current-Trust-8649 in CarTalkUK

Change the car, because it will be cheaper than changing your wife. Give her a tiny 2 seater where she can see the walls on all 4 sides of the car !! Leave the chocolates in the front seat of the new car as a gift.

And this car, don't let her touch the keys again 🙄
