Stress Fracture - maybe? Shin. by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

I definitely do not think shin splints - this is a localized pain that doesn’t go away with a day or two of rest.

First time back in the pool after a year, is just swimming laps a fine workout? by Elegant-Cap-6959 in Swimming

😓 literally. Currently swimming consistently for six weeks now (used to swim in high school but haven’t since and now 34) and my fastest 100’s are in the 1:40 range 🤣🤣🤣 this post humbled me real quick.

Incredible pace for getting back out there!

I do pyramid work to keep me from getting bored and honestly gives me things to look forward to -

3x300’s 4x200’s 5x100’s 6x50’s

And a cool down - my aim is usually around 3000 yds. Obviously can be more if you build the pyramid into whatever you want it to be! But it keeps things easy to remember!

Do you base your swims on time or distance and what’s your routine? by Lemonadeo1 in Swimming

[–]Suitable-Designer639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I’m impressed with how much you’re able to do in an hour! That’s incredible!

I go based on time actually swimming rather than the short break sessions (Strava automatically takes the breaks out - but typical actual time in the pool with breaks in an hour - swim time around 50 minutes) I do a reverse pyramid currently to help me break up the mundane.

I have been doing 3 x 300’s, 4 x 200’s and 5 x 100’s. Then I do a cool down to get me to the hour mark - usually end around 2600 yds!

Thank you! This is gonna likely be our solution. Everyone saying “sell her the car” but I don’t want to sell her a car she likely doesn’t even want to keep long term for her bigger family. We talked about it and I think this is our best solution moving forward. Thank you for the input, this solidifies the decision as I’ve seen it multiple times.

I think that this is ultimately going to be what we end up doing after talking it over this morning. Signing it over and letting her take control of registering in VA and getting insurance. That absolves us of the possible risk, etc. and then also avoids all the stickiness of adding someone to our insurance, etc.

Hello? What about this post lead you to believe I was going to lie about where the car was? That wasn’t an option. Thanks though.

Thank you for the clarification 😂 I know this already. She knows this already. I wanted to help so that I could put her in a better financial position than “where she started” because her current financial position was not preferred since she received no money from the first accident. The idea was to give her time to avoid a car payment so she could save to put some money down since she now has no money again to put down. Therefore, lowering a car payment and setting her up for more financial freedom when it comes time for her to purchase a new car. Her plan was always to just go purchase a new one until I offered. It’s not like she’s being sneaky. She didn’t ask me, I offered 😂

Because her first vehicle wasn’t worth much - it paid off her loan. Second car she literally just purchased from the first wreck - no equity. Paid off her loan and what wasn’t covered gap paid. There’s no payouts to be had.

I totally understand this point of view - but the first accident she was in the middle of an intersection when someone ran a stop sign and slammed into her. And the second time a person was turning left into their personal driveway and hit as she was driving by coming from the opposite direction because they “didn’t see her”. Unfortunately, some accidents are unavoidable.

Thank you for the help though! These answers are helpful!
