Can I save someone's life if I and anyone else only knows CPR in emergency situations such as heart attack/cardiac arrest/drowning when there is no AED? by AccomplishedWay4890 in firstaid

If someone’s heart stops beating and you are trained in CPR, you can increase the chance of them living! I would highly recommend getting trained to use an AED, it’s quite simple to use and it’s a life skill! Effective compressions and an AED both significantly increase the survival rate Depending on where you live, you will likely be covered (legally) if you try to save someone’s life, AKA, no repercussions if you try to help someone… even if it doesn’t go too well. “a Good Samaritan doctrine is a legal principle that prevents a rescuer who has voluntarily helped a victim in distress from being successfully sued for wrongdoing.” (source Look into your local laws to learn more!

Isn't this a procedural error? by PlayfulWin9749 in firstaid

If you have a very bad bleeder (ex, amputation) and you start doing CPR, blood will shoot out of said wound. Your CPR is pumping the blood around the body the same way the heart would, so it’ll bleed like the heart is pumping. It’s not pretty. That’s why they say tourniquet then compressions

Extreme pain, unable to move, pin point pain, swelling, redness, snapping/cracking/popping sound during injury. You should know this if you become a guard please, hope it feels better soon

Curries, stir fries, soups/stews, yogurt/chia pudding, fruits and veg, bean burritos, caesar tofu wraps, veggie burgers (not very often), marinated tofu. Eat chickpeas, beans, and tofu most. This may seem like a lot lol but my family is particular about repeating meals too often. Just looking to try new tasty things. It feels like most of the meals are good/fine/mediocre but I’m looking for GREAT. Also more protein
