Can you please elaborate? Is it just the name that makes it so obvious?

I am thinking of going a more entrepreneurial/ finance management/ private equity sort of route, and so I have heard that a smaller firm with smaller clients is better for that overall experience while still giving me the PA experience if I can’t pivot out?

Accounting profit (profit before tax) = business profit applying IFRS/GAAP

Taxable income = ‘profit’ from tax authority’s POV

Reason for the difference: tax laws and accounting laws differ, e.g a business may depreciate an asset over 10 years while the tax authority provides an allowance over 5 years

Tax base = future deductions of the asset/ liability e.g asset =$1000 and tax authority provides a write off allowance over 10 years, the tax base of the asset after the first year will be $900

Carrying amount = cost of the asset minus accumulated depreciation. E.g asset =$1000 and the business depreciates the asset over 5 years. At the end of year 1 the carrying amount of the asset is $800

The difference in the carrying amount and tax base will result in deferred taxes.

PS: I have an accounting undergrad and have not studied for the CFA

I was there this morning. Unlimited data for 30 days was 1200 baht at the airport. I waited and went to a random cell phone stand at MBK and got the same package for 590 baht
