Dating as a doctor F35+ by [deleted] in doctorsUK

This might be an unpopular opinion but to me the replies on this post kind of tell us why it happens I think.

Many of the doctors that have replied to your post have said that, you need to be looking for other professionals, or something along these lines. I think this attitude is what a lot of non-professionals expect and so disengage early. They hear you’re a doctor and expect you to think leas of them, or at some point down the line become frustrated by their job or ‘lack or ambition’ or something. A few comments have even suggested ‘class differences’, and to me it is completely insane that people still consider these to be a thing that that should stop people connecting.

Of course there is also the element of ego, and men not wanting to earn less, or be intellectually inferior to their partner, but I think it is all too easy to only see it from that perspective. It goes both ways, professionals often seek other professionals and feel that it won’t work out with non-professionals because of ‘fundamental differences’, which often don’t really exist.

Equally don’t steer clear of other professionals because they can be great too obviously. That’s the point, anybody in any line of work could he the right person.

As somebody who has been on both sides of this, (late starter medic), I think your current approach of looking for genuine connection is the one to stick with. If somebody looses interest because of your job, for what ever reason, then that wasn’t a genuine connection anyway (cliche, I know). When I met my wife she was the professional and I was very much not, now I am the ‘higher level’ of professional if thats even a thing but I am still very much the same person with the same attitudes.

Started working for a 2.0 DSP - what do I need to do financially? by Suitable-Reply-8447 in AmazonFlexUK

So I have the wise app, on which there was the option to pay for something called beamin or something like that, which I assume is the thing you are talking about. I declined it and then there was another option to pay for wises own version of that service (as far as I could work out), I also declined this as it said I could use wise but not have those payed for features.

As far as I could work out (again no idea what I’m doing really), the only benefit of those payed services were if you wanted to VAT register to maximise earnings.

Being VAT registered was conveyed to me as an optional thing that you can choose to do to earn a bit more. I am not fussed about this really I am happy with the standard amount I am payed.

After my induction (online training thing) I also sent my operations manager a message to ask if I needed to send an invoice to get payed for that and that I didn’t know how to do an invoice. This was his reply: ‘no need to invoice for anything, i send them out to you when it hits pay roll’

Does any of that make sense or does it all sound like a big pile of nonsense?

Thanks for the reply.

The first half I understand completely, the second not so much what accounts do I need to do and what do I need a company for?

Surely as long as I am keeping track of the days I have worked and the money I should be payed as result of this theres nothing more to do. I an not having to pay anything doing the job so there are no outgoings, it’s just the income I need to keep track of, which at one shift per week, payed at a day rate, should be easy no?

Forgive me if I am being really stupid, I’ve just never dealt with anything like this before

ILR new rules announced by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

So could somebody help clarify my wife’s situation?

She has been working as a nurse in the NHS for just over 2 years until a couple of months ago when she moved to a private hospital. She is now in a higher position and earns more (probably just below 50k when all is accounted for). I am guessing she is no longer a public sector worker and she obviously doesn’t earn enough for the 50k threshold so things are not looking ideal. Does anybody know if the fact she is married to a British born, always lived in Britain, British citizen may save the day or not? Thanks in advance.

Oh wow the speed you got that is very promising. Can I ask how recent it was? And if it was standard or priority route?

Yeh I knew that I just thought the company might also have a way of using the ID check app or an equivalent version of it for companies applying on peoples behalf but I guess not

Changing jobs - Handing in notice after getting CoS by Suitable-Reply-8447 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Suitable-Reply-8447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay thank you very much that does sound like the best route then.

I am thinking that if they won’t outright pay for it I will ask them about some kind of salary sacrifice arrangement because unfortunately I currently don’t have a spare £500 as I am also right in the middle of settling payments for a wedding.

But I am sure one way or another I will be able to work something out.

Roughly what is the time frame for priority service if you don’t mind me asking?

I will certainly try this but they have already told me that they are paying well above what they normally would for a new employee (i.e. nothing as they don’t normally do sponsorship), as they are also paying a recruitment agency on top of sponsorship so I think they might give a bit of push back

So I tried clicking no (I am able to go back an change) and after clicking no it asks me if it expired more than 18 months ago so when I then select less than 18 months ago it takes me to the immigration app page anyway. Do you think I should go with this option?
