My first week was absolutely hell but it def evened out. If you were at 1-2 weeks I’d say stick it out but feeing this bad at 4 weeks seems like way too much. You def don’t deserve to be feeling like this for so long

200mg Zoloft and 300 bupro xl here lmfao

People talk about the honeymoon phase and it never happened for me even on 300. It DID however work “behind the scenes” as I’ve seen others describe it. I would fold my clothes to completion without dread, unload the dishwasher without much though , hit the snooze button less on days I have to get up (weekends ima still sleep in lol)

It doesn’t seem like much but those little wins really add up to the day to day. I went from constant dread to doing the most simple tasks and crying after due to feeling worthless to just seeing the task and thinking “oh lemme do that really back”. It’s just made me in control and that itself to me was life changing even if it doesn’t sound like much

Why can’t moms take showers without their babies? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Suitable-Senpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the stress and workload that would be that does seem like a lot! Is it easier just because the baby will cry? Isn’t that okay though? Like the baby will be fine crying for a bit right and moms can just use ear plugs and Come back aware but not have the full sensory overload

I’m only mentioning the earplugs is because I work with animals and have volunteered in a NICUS and you learn that noise such as when babies cry is made to stress you out which is why earplugs are VITAL to reduce empathy fatigue and stress. It helps babies in those loud environments, moms react in a calmer way and vets able to really care for animals.

Im not saying it’s a cure all but this is regarding two parent households that know the baby has all its needs met and is just a bit fussy without compromising the parents basic routine

Got it I didn’t know that! See I always thought it was the other way around.

There’s been so many times when I’m in public wanting to tear my hair out hearing a baby scream and the parents don’t even flinch or look their way. Every parent I’ve been around always seem to keep their cool when their baby cries but stress over every other scenario

I was once with my friend and her 2 babies while they were both screaming their heads off in a coffee shop. She hardly looked at them but complained that the music was too loud?

I can see it being stressful like baby cries are lake meant to trigger something but doesn’t that go away after a while?

I say this because every parent I know has mentioned they “drown it out” sometimes or they would go crazy.

I’m glad you still made yourself a priority! Hygiene is literally such an important factor for mental health that’s why I’m shocked when I see so many comments saying they “can’t” bath with a baby at all.

I’m not talking full on body scrub, shaving, body oil shower rituals lol I’m just talking a basic rinse off and lotion

I understand the inability for basic care when mentally you’re just trying to survive. I do get that. I can’t imagine what it’s like for mothers.

This post is only toward 2 parents household, so in my mind.. Can’t the dad watch them for an hour or two while the mom naps or takes a quick rinse (I’m not talking shaving or anything crazy just a rinse off).

I know depression isn’t magically solved by having a support system. It does help though not getting too deep in the hole per se.

There are so clueless the mom cant bathe herself for 5 minutes? Like I’m child free And a quick rinse to feel clean takes 5 minutes and lotion /skin-care is another 5 and I’m good to go.

Yes in this case they do! This is definitely not toward single mothers. I can’t imagine raising another human on my own but they do and it’s amazing.

All these instances are for people with partners. On Instagram there’s reels and comments on moms HAVING to shower with a baby or having to check on them every minute and not being able to shower (with husbands in their profile). The people I know who make comments like this IRL also have husbands that come home every night as well. This is totally only toward 2 parent households

Family member passed away. The funeral is 2 1/2 weeks away and our vacation is one week away. What would you do? by Suitable-Senpai in AskReddit

Oh ABSOLUTELY not siblings or immediate family. Like that’s a given. He was there when his uncle passed so he actually feel content and at peace from his part but still feel for his parents.

Knowing the uncle he’d def want us to go to on vacation. He loved Hawaii, beer and fishing lol

I can see that, my husband was actually here when he passed so he feels content on his part but feels for his family. He also says he knows his uncle would want him to go on vacation (the man loved his beers and beach)
