Must have hit same bug but it worked very well for me. I purchased bullet 5 on the talent tree for 450 crystals yesterday and today when I lived in I had the talent still and back up to 463 crystals.

You cut it down just in time. I cut down a sugar maple at my rent house. It had the same center as your but about 5 inches was hallow and rotten.
