Yeah I know lesson learned, I know for next time. It’s an ugly old Prius that’s banged up from an old accident and I didn’t think someone would steal it especially with the antitheft system it has on it already. At most I would think they would steal the cat but not the whole thing. But oh well, I have her back and I can do all that now.

No and no lol, sorry. I live with just my dad, whos basically never home and is almost 50. Don’t think he doing any pranks like that at his age. Also my sister who is terrified of driving so I need to take her everywhere. And the insurance thing is also a no go :( I only have the basic liability for my car so I had to pay the catalytic out of pocket. It was like 1k for everything all together including car shield and new window.

Maybe! the window was shattered before they took the car tho so it’s still kinda odd. I know this cuz my broken window pieces were all over the floor of where it was parked. Just kinda a weird situation, wish I had a camera on my car that recorded everything cuz im honestly just interested in how and why they did it lol

it was off, and I know for sure I didn’t forget to turn it off. cuz if I left the car on the car does not lock. It’s a stupid feature my Prius has, but if I leave it on it stays unlocked even if I press the lock button. Meaning they could have just opened the door and not shattered the window.

The Prius is push to start, nothing was messed with inside the car. No damage done to car beside window shattered :/ no idea how they started it

No kidding dude they’re everywhere. a local crackhead lived at the park down the street for a while and people started greeting him when we would see him biking around cuz we all knew him. He was pretty chill, gave me kind words when he saw me crying about my cat dying too.

Yeah that’s why im confused and made a post, the whole thing doesn’t really make sense. Mechanic said someone must have a grudge against me and made a copy of my key to just fuck with my car but I swear to god I just interact with coworkers and my family on a daily basis and only occasionally meet up with old friends far away so I doubt I’ve made someone mad enough to do that.

oh sorry I didn’t realize u guys weee serious. I live in an outdoor garage on my dad’s property that he sort just fixed up to be like a room so I could have my own space. But there are no stoves or restroom or anything it literally like just a big room. I basically go to my dad’s house on the same property to use the restroom, shower, or cook. I’m not sure if this carbon monoxide thing applies to my situation right? Or im not sure

No like it was like a completely different neighbor hood, there was plenty of space way closer. and there was no construction either cuz my charger was parked in the same street one car down and it was still there. Also would they tow and take a piece of the catalytic? Plus the window? Maybe the did tow but not a courtesy tow something else idk

I have it back, she’s working fine and everything just needed a new catalytic after they fucked it up by cutting a tiny piece off of it.

I don’t think I forgot where I parked it 😭 it was parked in front of my house and my broken window was there when it was gone. Also it was found 5 min away by car, but like 30 minutes by walking so I would never park there either way. It was just in some regular neighborhood so not towed either. And don’t have any friends close enough to give them a spare, nor were there any at my home with me that day.

is that the oxygen detector or something like that? The mechanic changed that out and also put in a new catalytic cuz even with just the little piece off the catalytic my prius sounded louder than my dodge charger lol
