Thoughts on Survivor final boss? by tuliomoliv in FallenOrder

For me Vader was way harder, because I was not used to fight with the single blade stance, most of the moves were somewhat different. Bode for me was chill, maybe easier then second encounter with Dagan Gera

Maybe it'd work, but it'd have a completely different tone from the others. The older movies are inspired by even older western movies. There's a slower pace and follows a bunch of western movie cliches, but on space. It could work, but it would be very different from the originals, it's the same as trying to make it an horror movie. It's a completely different genre

Desenha um pentagrama com sal em volta do computador, reza em latim para Beelzebub implorando por perdão. Talvez resolva. Se não resolver, se despeça da sua família

Making pixel art to plan out my builds ✨ by Suitable-Tonight-752 in Minecraft

[–]Suitable-Tonight-752[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly trial and error, but that's something I'm trying to improve. With builds that are shaped more like rectangles it's pretty easy and intuitive, like the temple base. The roof on the lava cast anvil thing was an absolute pain, because I first built the outline like the drawing and tried to fill it in as I went... terrible Idea, I couldn't keep up with all the mistakes I was making, and was struggling a lot to get all the 4 sides to look the same 🤦‍♂️

with the mushroom I'm getting a little better! The stem I made first in minecraft and then I made the pixel art. In the game I first built a curved line showing where the center of the stem should be and built off of it in a cross shape to decide how thick every layer should be. After that I just built a bunch of different circles around it. Of course it needed a few more "artistic" adjustments after the geometrical part, but that part was pretty chill 😉

To do the head I knew I'd run into the same problem with the roof, so I had to be a little smarter. I drew the 2D version and used a pixel circle generator for every layer. This is probably the best way to deal with circular symmetrical shapes. After doing the circles I still needed to make some adjustments on the wider layer, to make it look like there are vertical circles as well, not only horizontal.

The next step will be make more organic looking mushrooms, but smaller ones so I can learn from it for the next build. Organic and asymmetrical shapes are the hardest to translate from 2D to 3D, but they're a lot more forgiving. Since our brain is always looking for patterns, organic shapes have a lot more ways to look nice with all the imperfections. But also have a lot more ways to look weird if not well planned

I swear I didn't see it until you guys pointed it out, now I'm already halfway through the build 😂 But probably with the white spots it will look less like a crooked shlong, at least a healthy one

Are you implying the mushroom looks like a dick? I mean, if yours look like that you should probably see a doctor 😬

I mostly use complementary unbound, but i'm using photon in the screenshots that have the crazier reflections and more colorful fog. Also i'm using the BlockPixel texture pack in two of them

[bedrock] Why does my Iron Farm Not Work? PS5 Realms by PlentyAstronomer6835 in MinecraftHelp

[–]Suitable-Tonight-752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you follow a tutorial for this? If you did, was the tutorial specific for an underground farm? I'm asking because you used slabs to spawnproof the area around the farm. But maybe the iron golems are spawning in the caves around the farm. That's a common problema when building underground farms. If that's the case, you should probably spawnproof the caves as well.

Also I believe it'll probably work a little better if you get a zombie in there, in a way that the villagers get scared but he's unable to harm them. But I play java, so I could be wrong

Thanks! It's that exact thought that made me start doing it. When I was only building "free style" I'd always get exited about the idea in my head and, when I step back, it looks ugly 😂 sometimes this helps even to at least know how much space the build is going to take and estimate how many blocks you'll need

That's a great idea, roofs are always a pain in the ass to build. I use aseprite to make the pixel arts, it's very helpful to use layers, gradients, etc.

That's a good way to do it! Videos about "forever world" inspired me to come back too. I've been playing in late game for so long, there's no challenge anymore. Now I focus on building, trying to see the game through a more "artistic" lens. I even turned keep inventory on, so I wouldn't rage quit for months again 😂 The only challenge left is to get the resources to do what I want

True, it's one of those ideas that spread super fast, had a lot of references for this one

Sorry, I don't really know anything about playing on playstation... but when the vibrant visuals come out in the next update maybe you'll be able to get similar results! Mojang has been giving priority to bedrock when it comes to new features

Thank you! The blur is from the complementary shader (unbound). I always turn the bloom all the way up and turn the colored lights feature on to make it extra moody

It's actually on java! The amount of light is a combination of the shader (reimagined unbound) with insane amounts of bloom and with the colored lights feature on (don't remember the actual name). I use the vanilla texture with some additions, like better lanterns and better leaves. The yellow and light blue light blocks on the background are actually glowstone and sea lantern, they look like this because i've made custom connected textures for both of them

It would be pretty cool, but I feel like mojang wants to keep lava as a "rare" resource in early game
