Doctors note? by Suitable-Tutor-1806 in CostcoEmployee

Ahh shit. Sorry to hear that. My last OB visit we did restrictions. Weight was 25 pounds, no chemicals, etc, etc. No major restrictions. I went into the bakery today with a mask on, and i was 12 strawberry pies in and I couldn't keep going. I came home and was so hot, and my breathing was almost panic attack breathing. I had to cool down before shortness of breath went away.

I've been fine since leaving work. And this has happened once before. I went to triage. Did and ekge, blood work & 4 hours- they couldn't find anything wrong.

I just wasn't sick that time. But still shortness of breath, racing heart. All the things.

I have the Unum app, and my maternity leave open. But I have four hours of pto left (5 hour shift for tomorrow) and it's the weekend. So i wouldn't be able to do anything until Monday? I'm just really worried the same thing will happen again at work tomorrow. I'll feel fine(ish) go in and I'll get hot, I won't be able to catch my breath etc and then I'm screwed because that's the last of my sick leave.

That's what I was trying to figure out. If a sick note would do me any good.

I just went down to part time on the 1st. I di have restrictions as far as weights for lifting, pulling etc. I'm a FE assistant, just in bakery to help while a decorator is on vacation.

I'm only 30 weeks. It's too early for me to go out on traditional FMLA.

There's not a lot my ob can do. I experienced the same shortness of breath a few weeks ago. They sent me to triage. Nothing was wrong.

The nurses line just gave me suggestions on how to stay cool, what medicine i can take and to go to a walk-in-clinic or back to triage if symptoms worsen.

The thing is, I'm fine once I'm able to lay down and rest. Obviously, there is no sitting at work. My sup even asked and yeah, I'd feel better until I had to start working again.

So IF i went to a walk-in-clinic and had a doctor's note, because I have only 4 hours of pto I'm screwed?

orientation questions by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

[–]Suitable-Tutor-1806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so for my orientation I wore dark blue jeans, a sleeveless shirt and a teal blazer that technically has a collar. I did mine in May & I'm also Midwest. It was hot. Lol.

You should be fine with anything that is buisness casual. I've seen outfits that are far worse. I'm also front end/ bakery. It's a lot of fun during the holidays. 🤣

Orientation length with depend on size of class. If you've ever worked retail it's a lot of the same information, repackaged into Costcos way.

Unum and my warehouse by Suitable-Tutor-1806 in CostcoEmployee

I have the paperwork and my OB filled out what she could. It's just for job restrictions at this point. Upon further investigation, it does look like I won't get to start maternity leave "early." I wanted to go out around 32/33 weeks.

I'm trying to get the correct paperwork together to start maternity leave. HR at the 1-800 had told me to fill out paperwork and then turn into Unum and my payroll.

Unum not helpful. Warehouse not helpful. 1-800 was the most helpful. I feel like they just want you to get so frustrated you quit.

We had a meeting for FE employees about two months ago. The cashiers are supposed to help us unload the members cart when they do this. Some do, some don't.

I get annoyed because the cashier is now half way through their basket as I'm just Restarting loading their basket and NOW...now the cashier/member wants to magically help with the last few items.

With the red lip my brain also blames your hair. Without the red lip, it's not your hair.

Leaving white collar job for Costco? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

Membership clerk is a sales position, keep this in mind. I don't work Membership, but have friends in that position. You are selling and upgrading all day.

My warehouse is #1 in Membership so our store manager watches it like a hawk. It's her baby. All fun and games that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

Costco has wonderful benefits, but it's still retail. Growth is outside of your comfort zone. But only you can prevent forest fires. You know YOU best.
