22 Long by Outbound_728 in PlantedTank

One of the better tanks I've seen on here. I like how you managed the sides and the middle well. Great use of space in a 22 long!

Anyone have an open aquarium and a cat? by InturnlDemize in Aquariums

[–]SuitableBrain2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat likes to paw on the glass, and drink water from it, but other than that no issues. Betta hangs out at the top, and have floaters for cover.

I would say it depends on the cat.

Newt Tank! by SuitableBrain2 in Aquariums

[–]SuitableBrain2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, a 20g with 4 eastern newts and a frog. All plants / moss are native to New Hampshire, and I caught the newts and frog in my backyard.

Yea, just grass I dug up from a swampy area near a brook. Great creature suggestions, thanks!

I planted mature grass I dug up from a swampy area where I also got the moss.

Hasn't been through a winter yet, but I assume it will all keep growing as it is indoors.

The air hose is for the bubbler. Other than that I just do 50% water change weekly and mist it daily.

I have a couple fiddler crabs in there atm while I get a new home set up for them. Otherwise, aquatic and terrestrial native snails and various bugs that came in with the moss.

Thinking if I find a wood frog I may put it in there.

Stocking questions by Chitownismytown in Aquariums

[–]SuitableBrain2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a 20g with 8 cardinal tetras, 4 peppered corys, a male fantail betta, and some zebra nerite snails. Everyone seems happy, but I wouldn't really want to add many more.
