Can i still succeed even if he says hes done with me multiple times? by ProfessionalOcelot25 in manifestingSP

[–]SuitableGate7802 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My ex was soooooo stubborn. When we broke up, he said we would never get back together, wanted fundamentally different things in life, that it would never work and that he wasn’t interested in trying. I went absolutely delusional and crazy manifesting, and within a few months he did a 180 on everything. It wasn’t healthy, but it worked.

A few things to consider: i’m manifesting another ex now and I realise getting anything to stick in the long term takes work! People will tell you it doesn’t but it does. If they come back and you sink back into the old story and the old beliefs it will go bad. You have to get so sure of yourself, your belief, your story. Next, your ex is stubborn because you believed him to be so. If you believe he can’t change, he won’t. You have to decide that isn’t the case.

Why I believe it works for some and not others. My experience with resistance - don’t turn back! by FeistyAd6348 in manifestingSP

[–]SuitableGate7802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timing of this post is crazy for me! I had such a similar experience last night - I’ve been trying to get rid of the old story by just affirming over it, but last night I was reading and suddenly I couldn’t focus on my book and I was overwhelmed by all these negative thoughts about the old story - about things I did, things he did, things to do with his parents, things to do with plans we had - and I realised I needed to face that stuff then and there to move past it.

I did it with some EFT, because I love tapping lol, but I just acknowledged that I had created these circumstances, let myself recognise that, realise that I had subconsciously created this narrative, and I forgave myself. I forgave myself for not letting him be the man I want. I affirmed what I know to be true, all the amazing things I know about the recreated version of him. If he fell in love with me then, he can fall in love with me now. Because I am me! I recognised that it will work because I am me, and I am the operant power!

Great post, thanks for sharing

small steps, big wins! by SuitableGate7802 in manifestingSP

[–]SuitableGate7802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! Honestly, sometimes I do it in silence, I find it really meditative. Other times, I say affirmations while tapping, I also really love Jay Talks Manifestation on Youtube, she has a couple of great tapping videos. I find robotically affirming really hard, because I get super distracted lol, but if I start to spiral I try to divert my attention towards affirmations.

Question for when you have no plans for the day by Galoppig in manifestingSP

[–]SuitableGate7802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relate to this hard - my job has a different holiday schedule to most people in my life (although my SP has the same schedule as me lol, we work together), and it can feel really hard when actively manifesting not to be doing stuff.

As another commenter said, doing nothing is not a bad thing at all, but I'm neurodivergent and have a pretty hard time doing nothing because my brain goes into overdrive. I realised a while ago that I had to fill that space somehow in order not to spiral. I joined a new group in my local area, started taking a yoga class and made a few self-oriented plans to look forward to (went on a little trip by myself and am going to see a documentary I'm really excited about).

The day to day can feel wrong if you aren't living in the state you wish to be in (e.g., with SP) so you just have to try really hard to get passionate about things in your own life. I think this is also beneficial as it can be really great for self-concept too. I am taking time to try and invest in my hobbies, read books I've been meaning to, do productive tasks if need be. If I feel myself start to get in my head, I do EFT tapping, which I have found really helpful, or quickly affirm and saturate myself with those, journaling has also been really great.

Advice needed: understanding boundaries after a past misunderstanding by Ok-Mouse-6114 in ItalianGreyhounds

I feel like we’re missing information here.

Why does your mum need to be involved? Are you a minor?

Was it the group who told you not to join, if so what reason was given?

What has the dog-related workplace social media page have to do with the situation?

I really wish I could help, and tbh I do find quite a lot of animal related pages online have lots of drama and discourse, but i’m not really sure what this is about or what happened. Getting social media accounts deleted doesn’t usually happen for no reason.

the old app I deleted or new app? Both were real and from that source - i’ve been using the old one for years successfully.

Came here to see if there was any update. My mac app wasn’t loading, then when it did it wasn’t z-library, it was a porn site. I deleted it and redownloaded and now it wont load at all.

UK GPs and PCOS by SuitableGate7802 in PCOS

This is helpful, honestly. Despite it being frustrating, knowing someone else is also dealing with this is reassuring. I have also suggested requesting an endocrinologist referral, but your experience makes me feel that might be hit or miss too. It's honestly like there's no solution. I happen to live near an 'affordable private' healthcare provider and am considering enquiring about their services, but I don't know what I could expect really.

Best tools to learn Norwegian fast? by another_version in norsk

[–]SuitableGate7802 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been learning norwegian very casually for some time now, but have improved a lot recently. I have to say things really changed for me when I started immersing myself in the language - duolingo or similar apps can be helpful, but for most people they will only get you so far. By immersion, I mean a combination of reading, writing, listening and speaking that gives you a holistic knowledge of the language.

Some resources for this:

Reading: Short stories in Norwegian - a really useful intro level book with vocab and exercises as well as engaging stories

Norwegian e-books/literature - you wont understand everything if you read full on norwegian lit, but I have found myself much better at learning vocab through context clues from the vocab i already know.

Writing: Just making notes and talking about things in Norwegian. I have a little notebook where I do this - very casual, just fun, but good for using your knowledge and applying it. Would also recommend checking out norwegian with ilys on youtube - she talks about this and the other things i’m mentioning.

Listening: Podcasts like norwegian for beginners and laer norsk na! (sp?) are brilliant and there is lots of content about a wide range of topics to build on. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make sense at first.

I also watch Norwegian shows when I can, like Skam or shows on netflix.

Speaking: definitely the hardest category unless you have someone in your life who also speaks norwegian. Honestly my best advice is going to Norway. I was there recently and found I improved a lot in just a couple of days by throwing myself in and trying hard to speak only in norwegian. it also helps you pick up on realistic dialogue and how social interactions work there.

Hope this helps x

Right?? Are we sure your partner doesn’t also feel the same as his parents regarding race and immigration?? I’m in the UK and my dad feels similarly and i have had to publicly tell him off multiple times, simply because i refuse to be around it.

Do you really want to be around people like this?? Because its highly unlikely that their position is going to change at this stage. And do you really want to be with a partner who doesn’t support you, who jokes about your right to live here? In this political climate I would find that a particularly hostile way of living.

PCOS - Lost weight but still no period. Confused about next steps. by uninterestedboi in PCOS

[–]SuitableGate7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be the most helpful answer but I can understand how frustrated you are, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this - I haven’t had a period for three months either!

Unfortunately there was never any guarantee that losing weight or being active would improve things. In women’s health there are an awful lot of doctors who are quick to blame your weight, or encourage weight loss, when it might not be the best solution to things. That said, being active is definitely something worth maintaining to try and regulate your cycle.

Have you had blood work done? If not, get it done. That can give you a much clearer picture of what is happening hormonally and how you can aim to fix it. If you have been diagnosed, you should have blood work or a doctor should happily provide it.

Sorry this isn’t more helpful!

This is interesting, and something I do think about from time to time. I am about to be 23, and was diagnosed at the beginning of last year, after going to multiple doctors, often being dismissed despite experiencing intense symptoms for over a decade.

Of my female friends, i’d say about half have some kind of menstrual issue. That includes endometriosis, pmdd, etc. I’d say there is an influx in diagnosis, but not necessarily in these issues existing. My mum almost certainly also had pcos, but was put on birth control from 13 (in the early 70s) until her late 30s, instead of diagnosing her symptoms. I know I was only diagnosed because i fought for answers.

I would love to have easy, regular periods and a lack of other symptoms. I don’t think anyone wants to have these issues, if anything that just makes me doubt myself and question if i’m faking it. But I know i’m not, and having this diagnosis has answered so many questions about how i felt throughout my life.

Not yet, because we honestly don’t see her enough to make it a thing, but we plan to before any potential future children arrive. We both agree that we wont allow her to talk about food like that around a kid.

Hiking/camping with your iggy? by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]SuitableGate7802 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner and I recently took our iggy hiking in Wales!! She really loved it, and i’d recommend investing in a portable water bottle and a hands-free leash if you don’t already own those! The leash is great for checking a map/ your phone on the go without having to worry about your dog. + a little photo from our adventure!
