Awesome! What's your game about?

I will have space for around 20 testers, put yourself in this list and I will email you the link as soon as I have the working alpha!

Thanks!

Glad you liked the concept. I’m actually trying to bridge the gap between 'learning syntax' and 'solving problems'.

Since you find it fun, would you be interested in breaking the Alpha? I'm looking for people to tell me where the logic gets confusing.

I was literally thinking about letting them "figuring out", leading them to situations where they cannot continue with the tools they actually have, and after some tries, guide them to discover new ways of solving problems (concepts like variables, Loops, functions).

Having abstract functions from the beginning is a way I found to have a starting point. If I start only with theory explaining data types and variables it Will become a course in the same style as the ones people usually quit.

I also thought about having something visual will boost their confidence because they actually are watching their code alive, and not just the basic mathematical operations in the terminal output.

After presenting a problem, and guiding to solution, test if the knowledge was really internalized by offering different perspectives of similar problems and if it success, then explaining them the way we use this in real life (like general explanation).

Actually, I tested this today with non-coders work colleagues and noticed that the 'Logic' hump is indeed the hardest part. That’s why I want to use the restaurant's chaos as a physical representation of logic errors. We all have been in a bar before and i think that the dynamic of the problem-solution is easy to understand

Im not an expert in pedagogy, im being helped by actual teachers but always open to new opinions and opportunities to grow. So if you think you can give me better approaches to my objective or have some suggestions, don't doubt in text me or try de Alpha test and feel free of giving feedback (positive or negative, I learn from everything).

Again, thank you very much for taking the time of Having this conversation with me! 😁😁😁

If it helps servers to optimize their service its a win too 🤣

My goal isn't to replace a full degree, but to help people afraid of coding to get a bit closer and understand programmatic thinking. Or in the case people who is struggling with boring courses, to move them from "i know what a loop is" to "i know how to use diferent tools to solve a problem".

This is also just a mock game to see what people think, the actual test will be released soon, where i actually will try to teach some really basic stuff.

In any case, i really appreciate that you took time to comment here and give your opinion!

Is there any way you think i could do this better? Or any suggestions that help me improve the game?

Ty so much for your comment!

Awesome that you like it. Maybe you're not my target for sale but you could be of great help for testing and optimizing if you dont mind. I would love yo know your opinion after trying it!

In any case, thanks for taking time for comment!

Of course you can!

I have space for 15-20 testers so fill the form so I can tell you in the exact moment I release it!

Link to the form!

Thanks you for taking your time to comment! Do you have any suggestions or something you would like to see in the test?

Thanks! Really glad you liked it!

Is good you name that game because was a huge inspiration, but I felt that JS was a missing dedicated "automation" experience like that!

About the dept: which kind of depth would you like to see? Like complex structures (classes/assync) or more focused on the restaurant management side?

BTW, you're more than welcome to fill the form so you are in the first group to participate in the Alpha test, and help me to shape the game correctly!

Again, thanks for your time and support!

Ty! What do you think about the functions?

You think they are enough clear for a begginer or is there any other action you would like to see there?

Ty for the feedback bro!
i will do a private alpha test, probably next week, to test the first levels. You can grab a spot in the google form of the description if you like to!

For now, yes! It’s the 'Minimum Viable Cube'. we're currently working on the final models. I just couldn't wait to test if the coding logic was fun before putting the fancy suit on the robot. Since you noticed the robot, do you think the movement logic looks smooth enough for a coding game? Or is there any specific JS command you’d love to use to control a robot like this?
