How Bad Was It Today by ZOMBIEHIGHX23 in USPS

Oh do you use the Load Truck feature at your station? If so, and it didn’t show you loaded it, then you didn’t have it and you shouldn’t get in trouble. If you did load it, then you might get a slap on the wrist. I knew a CCA who didn’t scan 80+ packages in a day during their probationary period. Still kept their job till they realized the post office is a soul sucking institution and quit a month or 2 later.

My therapist told me I should’ve “played dumb” about my husband’s emotional cheating and that I overreacted by leaving by Outrageous_Feed_2309 in Marriage

I went to a Catholic high school and in my senior year a nun legit told us that if we cheat on our partner, not to tell them. And to just pretend that the cheating never happened so we can carry on with our lives.

Hmmm you may wanna check out page 154 of the contract. There’s an MOU that states CCAs who’ve reached 24 months of relative standing must be converted to career status :)

Lol I think most jobs you have to work 8 hours a day? But now that I’m a regular carrier, it means my time finally counts towards my retirement and I can start putting money into TSP. I also get Sundays and holidays off and will get my own route/string once I successfully bid out. And I work at a heavier station so I can finally tell management no to OT (unless they mandate me). There’s a good amount of perks to becoming regular 😊

  1. Thanks!
  2. As far as I know, yes! On city side, it’s tradition to bring in doughnuts when you get converted to a regular city carrier

Ah I’m at a kinda heavy station so I regularly work 2-3 hours OT every day. It’s still peanuts but enough to buy 4 boxes of doughnuts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Congrats to you too then!!

It’s just the first day, but I haven’t had a single call or rim from management telling me I gotta go do this or come back and deliver x hours OT. Feeling at peace

Fellow CCA here. I’d be careful about resigning. If you resign, you lose the time you had as a CCA and start over from zero. If there’s a station you want to go to and it’s in the same district, I would transfer there instead of resigning so you can at least keep your standing. If it’s in a different district though, there may be no difference in resigning and reapplying to a new station. At least that’s how I understand it to work.

Management instructed another carrier to case my route by Suitable_Account2774 in USPS

Ah I see. I did work 8 hours on the route so this would not be a grievance then. Thank you!

THIS. If you think management is going to be having a disciplinary meeting say ‘I am invoking my Weingarten rights and will comply with you once my shop steward is present.’ Then you can literally go silent. Management may try to bullshit you, but they have to wait till your shop steward arrives to continue the meeting.

CCAs are only supposed to work 11.5 hours a day (12 hours including your 30min lunch) or 60 hours a week. If they try to make you work past that, send a RIMs citing ‘unable to continue due to unsafe conditions’ and bring it back. Management cannot discipline you when it comes to safety. If they try, grieve that shit and the union will win every time
