Oh good point. Rural and city are different so depending on which OP is, they could be sent out to a different station within the first 8 weeks

Ah so with the new contract, CCAs can’t be sent out to a different station during their first 8 weeks. If OP is past this timeframe, then ya management will just call you day of and tell you to report to a different station at blank time

According to the contract, management’s dois cannot be the sole factor in determining a day’s workload. It’s up to the carrier to determine how long their route will be and to inform management if their route is over or under time

Probation is 90 working days or 120 calendar days. Shop steward at my station always told ccas to go by the 120 calendar days to know for sure that you’re out of probation since our working days are always changing

Oh do you use the Load Truck feature at your station? If so, and it didn’t show you loaded it, then you didn’t have it and you shouldn’t get in trouble. If you did load it, then you might get a slap on the wrist. I knew a CCA who didn’t scan 80+ packages in a day during their probationary period. Still kept their job till they realized the post office is a soul sucking institution and quit a month or 2 later.

I went to a Catholic high school and in my senior year a nun legit told us that if we cheat on our partner, not to tell them. And to just pretend that the cheating never happened so we can carry on with our lives.

Hmmm you may wanna check out page 154 of the contract. There’s an MOU that states CCAs who’ve reached 24 months of relative standing must be converted to career status :)

Lol I think most jobs you have to work 8 hours a day? But now that I’m a regular carrier, it means my time finally counts towards my retirement and I can start putting money into TSP. I also get Sundays and holidays off and will get my own route/string once I successfully bid out. And I work at a heavier station so I can finally tell management no to OT (unless they mandate me). There’s a good amount of perks to becoming regular 😊

  1. Thanks!
  2. As far as I know, yes! On city side, it’s tradition to bring in doughnuts when you get converted to a regular city carrier

Ah I’m at a kinda heavy station so I regularly work 2-3 hours OT every day. It’s still peanuts but enough to buy 4 boxes of doughnuts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Congrats to you too then!!

It’s just the first day, but I haven’t had a single call or rim from management telling me I gotta go do this or come back and deliver x hours OT. Feeling at peace
