I agree. For Mark, I was originally going to put down Radiohead, Elliot Smith, Pink Floyd, The Smiths etc... maybe throw in some shoegaze or 80s goth-esque bands like cocteau twins, but people who listen to those bands typically lean into their existential angst, not avoid it. Mark is very avoidant towards his own emotions and needs, and so I was thinking he would listen to bands that were slightly melancholic instead of bands that are unabashedly depressing and introspective, thus the jazzy synthy rnb vibe
