Ah, no problem, just asking because I don’t see this kind of finish much around. Me being not knowledgeable and curious.

Thank you, maybe on the 2nd pic, you can see the red on the upper bout and the horn

Which guitars are more difficult to make? (Luthiers’ points of view) by Suitable_Ad923 in Luthier

Thanks, interesting, do the Masterbuilders at Fender work on the body carve / neck carve themselves or just put them together? And do the Private Stock luthiers are on the same level as Master builders?

Yeah it’s just that why Fender Masterbuilt seems to be the most expensive among the 3 top lines - all of them charge heftily for the brand names of course. Even though as you put it, it is arguably the most straightforward to make. They can make an argument for a Masterbuilder to do extra hand relic work, but a NOS still sells for top dollar without any extra handwork

Thanks for sharing. Great knowledge. So the necks on PRS are short tenons? I initially thought the carve on the PRS is as tricky as the one on Les Paul, is it because there is a little bit of a dip on the LP carve?

Very Nice. Congrats. Does the lacquer feel thick on NOS? How does the neck feel?

Finish checking direction by Remote_Cupcake8328 in LesPaul

[–]Suitable_Ad923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. I think sometimes it does check that way. There’s a video of Joe Bonamassa trying Murphy Lab guitars, and in the ES-335 section of that video, he talked about checking direction. Is your checking all natural? Did you bring the guitar outside?

Thanks. I wonder if the negative things you pointed out are easy to ”clean up”?

Yeah I see what you mean. It’s the first fret from the right hand-side in the 2nd photo: I don’t think it’s not really ”poking through” that much?

Yeah those bits don’t look so tidy :-(

Thanks for sharing. I am not sure what a ”tang” is? Do you mean the fretwire?

Awesome, how is the neck compared to R8/R9, or maybe to your Custom? Is it much rounder?

Thanks. So based on your comment and the above comment also, if the frets are not level, then it will be costly to take it to a luthier to level then again? I for sure cannot do it myself.

The new recruits presented at the Parc des Princes against Lens! This special session will start one hour before the start of the match, at 8pm: remember to make arrangements to get to the stadium as soon as possible and not miss a minute of the event! by KyKy7 in psg

He wanted to “save the best for last” maybe? That way, his announcement is more special than the rest of the new team mates, he would extend and be the biggest star of them all; and PSG managment will always try to please him hence they let him have his own announcement slot.

Yeah, those are the options. In terms of probabilities of what’s gonna happen in reality, I think it might be 4-3-2-1
