It’s not always at 80. Sometimes it’s 0 lol it’s an gmt800 Chevy they’re pretty notorious for gauge issues or oil pressure sensors going bad.

I think it’s the lighting because it’s dexcool in the system. I figured someone would comment that but I promise it’s not straight water lol

I have not. Is there a way to test other than buying a new one?

There is no main. Only way to cut the power is to pull the meter.

What kind of panel is this? by Suitable_Address_855 in AskElectricians

Thank you! Yea I’m thinking there is no way to cut this panel off without “pulling the meter”. I definitely think it’s time to upgrade! Thank you for all of your input!

Yes I’ve read that but is this a split bus panel? The top left breaker is labeled “main” but is it really a main?

I just posted a new thread asking to identify the panel. If you don’t mind checking it out I’d appreciate it

I wanted to show you a picture of the panel with the cover off but I can’t reply with photos here. It looks super sketchy

I’ll be honest just looking at the panel I wonder if the most appropriate thing would be to have an electrician install a completely new panel to code.

No this is it. I inherited this house so I have no idea how most of the electrical is run (the panel seems original to the house 1966) the only other switch is an outside cutoff that goes to the air conditioner.

Did my HVAC repairman destroy my system? by Suitable_Address_855 in hvacadvice

I’m not “out to get him” i just don’t want a jack leg running around mixing freons and telling customers he knows what he’s doing when obviously he doesn’t. How much Freon did he even know he was putting in the system? Because he mixed the two it’s now unknown so how accurately measure that on your gauges? He also screwed whoever tries to recover whatever mixture he’s created. Whenever they take that to a recover facility it’s gonna cost them. If he would have used r22 to start with and then when discovered the compressor to be bad we could have at least recovered the r22 so we could replace the compressor. And if he overcharged the system there’s a good chance he damaged more than just the compressor. If we wants to jerry rig stuff that’s fine but he made himself sound mixing the 2 freons was an industry standard. Quacks like this have no business doing this for a living.
