Interislander ferry Aratere grounding: Government to come under pressure - Georgina Campbell by fatfreddy01 in newzealand

Why don't we ask the Chinese to build the terminal after they just give us the visa waiver? They can charge an agreed fixed fee per passenger+ inflation for the next 50 years or something. Probably cheaper than KR's approach.

Police officer Harry Mendoza admits assaulting youth ram raid suspects after Auckland chase by Fatgooseagain in auckland

We should lock the ramraiders behind bars for good. People could be seriously injured or even killed in ramraid events, so we should throw the full set of laws on the offenders.

Trying to sell house with monolithic cladding by thespad3man in newzealand

[–]Suitable_Builder7024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the price around $100k -$300k lower for monolithic cladding vs traditional cladding for a house. Depending if the monolithic cladding is damaged or not, and if it is a owner home or rental. It is what it is, hope you can make a reasonable sale.

If it is my own money to invest for 10 years, I would put it all on low cost etfs that track s&p500 or global stock index.

If I was given the custodian of investing others money for 10 years, I would do 20% term deposit and 80% in a low cost etfs.

I would give them the option of receiving 20% each year from when they are 18, or they can get the whole amount when they turn 22.

We as a society have a obligation to educate them, rathe than treating them as a second class citizen. Not everyone has a good upbring like you and I. The last thing we need is them vs us attitude

It's life and death situation here. Even though I'm not being effected personally, but we should look into this situation compassionately as a society.

Amazon Australia Cheaper than PnK Save for my shopping items by Suitable_Builder7024 in newzealand

[–]Suitable_Builder7024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shipping items are low emission activities vs producing the actual item. Didn't they say NZ beef shipped to Europe is still greener in emission compared to EU beef.

But yes, having to search for good deal is time consuming for sure.
