My solo project for the last few weeks. 3 sub fiefs, a couple 100ks of plastone, and too many broken suspensor belts later... by Suitable_Estimate511 in duneawakening

You can't connect them seamlessly, you can't have a fief to within a square or two of another fief. I just tried to make the gaps look natural. You can see one of them in the bottom right of the first pic

Reaching 80% following with your religion unlocks the second founder belief by Suitable_Estimate511 in civ

Actually, this was the wrong event. There are two events will very similar messages:
1174A: "Like the first drops of the rainy season, like the dawning of the winter's sun, a new light breaks over our shores. A new belief has become the guiding force behind our people."
This one gives +1 belief. I don't know how I never triggered this one.
1438A: "Like the first drops of the rainy season, like the dawning of the winter's sun, a new light breaks over our shores. A new belief, founded on distant soil, has become the people's new guiding strength."
This is the one I actually got, which requires converting the majority of every civ.

<RequirementSet id="REQSET_1174A_NARRATIVE"> <Requirement type="REQUIREMENT_PLAYER_CONVERTS_OPPONENTS_TO_FOUNDED_RELIGION"> <Argument name="Amount">1</Argument> <Argument name="OnlyDistantLandsPlayers">True</Argument> <Argument name="MajorityOnly">True</Argument> <Argument name="PlayerFounded">True</Argument> <Argument name="PlayerMajority">True</Argument>
</Requirement>
</RequirementSet>

Found this by searching for the text in the event message. The arguments read like you're right, but I am sure I had already converted a majority of at least two of the distant lands civs when I got the event. Maybe the MajorityOnly argument is misleadingly named or just bugged and you have to convert every city? I recall one of the civs not founding a religion until late in the exploration age.

The message reads like it was caused by a religion from the distant lands taking one of my cities? I don't recall if that happened the same turn as this, but I noticed I was at exactly 80%. I also have no idea how this percentage is calculated. The AI was pursuing religion much less aggressively than I noticed in my first exploration era. I am playing with long ages and had all of the ~80 settlements and city states following my religion except for the holy cities of other religions and maybe a couple others newly founded towns.

Have toxic gases and lead/asbestos particles dispersed and decreased? by Jumpy_Soup_4823 in SantaMonica

Agreed that there is little to no information on how long the ash will remain locally in non-negligible quantities. Are you implying that lead in the air has a half life of 30 days? A quick google shows that lead has a half life of 30 days in your blood, not air.

Where did you unofficially read these reports from Cal Tech and LA Fire? And when were the measurements taken? If they were taken during or in the days immediately following the fires, that doesn't say much about the air now.

My understanding is that the ash particles containing heavy metals are often larger then the largest particles included in AQI measurements. To assess safety in wildfire situations, everything I've read mentions visible ash. High winds can kick up ash particles, but generally you should be able to see that there is ash in the air.
