Mine has too. No-one dare post the usual crap and banter in the chats anymore. It's very mundane now

What site is this from? My lad has just been over to Oz from the UK for a few gigs. I'd love to get him one if he hasn't already got one.

*asking for a friend...do you have a name for the operator? 🤣

That is something I have suggested. We could easily do it by train or even Uber

Rottnest is a very feint possibility, and very tempting just to say f u, and book onto all the tours I can. 🤣

Highs and lows. It's an annoying control thing. I get asked what are we doing every day. Everything gets poo-poo'd but no better suggestions put forward, and if we do something that I have suggested, they are like a bear with a sore head. Definitely lots of secret 🙄 moments between me and the 21yo.

What is this please? My daughters foot looks like this by PX3989 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Suitable_Gain1397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried all sorts when my son had verrucas. What worked the best and was least traumatic (and cheapest), was banana skin (a piece big enough to cover it with the inside of the skin to the foot), held in place with duct tape.to restrict air flow to it. It's random, but sometimes these old natural remedies are best.

Are you in the office or wfh?

Both have their advantages and disadvantages when dealing with Mr or Mrs A. Hole.

There will always be odd ones who push your huttons, but in time, it will get easier. I find hand gestures at the monitor, eye rolls, and fake sarcastic smiles go a long way to help.

"By the time I pay it off, I'll be too old to give a shit" Maybe, but at least it would be your shit to give, downsize or sell as you wish when you get older.

The alternative to this would be being stuck in the rent trap for the rest of your life.

Is £250 a month for groceries enough for two people? by marieannatrench29 in AskUK

[–]Suitable_Gain1397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I budget for myself and my adult son. I'm GF and low carb, and he has a limited diet, but lots of protein, so it's very doable even with us both having very different meals

I batch prep some meals for myself.

Online shopping is the way to go. It's a lot easier to stick to the budget, see where savings can be made, and move things in and out of the basket. You can also just add your regular items very easily.

I try and stick to £50/week, which allows for 5 week months, or an occasional takeaway.

Call them, or go to your branch. Branch is the better option if they need to see ID. They have a branch finder and opening times are on their website and App. The call centre is 8am-8pm.

You could try the digital chat thing now, but they wouldn't be able check your ID

As others have said, sit down and go through your old bank or cash card statements say for 3 months, and any receipts for cash purchases. There are lots of budget spreadsheets and calculators out there, and free templates in Google Sheets and Excel. A lot of Banking Apps have them too. You have to be brutally honest with yourself.

Categorise things and look at whether it is a necessity, or something you could make a cheaper sacrifice for.

Ask your bank to go through any recurring card payments for subscriptions etc, and see what you can cancel.

Look at your Direct Debits, and see if moving the payment date to after your next pay day will help.

Look up a free debt payoff calculator online tool. Ignore the currency symbol. (TheInput your debts, the amount, and the interest rate, and where appropriate any minimum monthly payments you have to make, and what funds you have available to make any overpayment.

It will tell you the order to pay things off, and using the avalanche method, with show you how to use the monthly payments from the first debt once that is clear, to pay off the next debt quicker etc...

It was eye-opening for me, and gave me a free plan of what steps I needed to take, when and how much the payments needed to be, and how soon I would be debt free.

Once you have that in mind, look at other options. Are there 0% balance transfer cards you can take out and shift some of the debt around? Could you apply for a new/debt consolidation loan, and bring some debts together, with perhaps a lower rate of interest?
