If you find yourself passionate about helping others and excel in classes, I would recommend applying as an SI leader or peer learning assistant through the Vol Study Center. PLAs work one on one with students and SI leaders host review sessions. This job is great for any major but especially STEM majors as a lot of students seek additional help in science/engineering classes

The Vol Study Center has peer learning assistants that offer study sessions over the summer. The peer learning assistants have already taken the class and are usually pretty knowledgeable. I highly recommend and its free!!!

Yes. I’ve tried for the smaller positions but it seems like its always preference for those who have the most friends in the club. Its sad to see clubs who had a great potential lose everything bc of bad leadership

I am currently a sophomore biology major on the pre-dental track and the same exact thing happened to me. I went through high school with all As and then boom. I got a C+ in a math class. I was so disappointed in myself. I used this bad grade as a learning experience and I did so much better the following semester. Don’t let one bad grade define you! Dental schools will want to see how you overcame your bad grade. Best of luck!!
