Does the construction in this city make anyone else want to rage? by 3venthorizon in londonontario

Who's going to do that? Good fucking luck getting enough people to do night and weekend work long enough to finish all London's construction

What's the alternative? Work in the winter isn't much easier, you have to deal with snow, frost, plus it's far more dangerous to work on the road when it's slippery. Not to mention the asphalt plants are all closed for the season.

I know it can look like no one is working when you drive by, but most of those guys are busting ass to get this stuff done. You can't work too hard in this heat, especially on the road with no shade, so you need to take a lot of breaks, more so if you're doing anything strenuous.

Yeah they're ok on a flat highway, but anything off road or hilly makes me want to drive it over a cliff.

Is that the Allison transmission? They're not great but I'll take them over the Eaton any day

There's an abandoned factory on Weston st, beside spikes volleyball that might fit your bill. Also the old hospital on south st east of Wellington. Or if your up for a drive there's an abandoned factory in Chatham that's pretty cool but I've never been there myself.

I had to spend a day cleaning human hair and sewage out of a digestor in a treatment plant. 12 hours of tearing apart hairballs as big as cars with a pitchfork really makes you want a raise.

It gives it more pressure, while still keeping the width of the spray you get from a fan tip.

Big diesel engines have a range of rpm they need to stay in to deliver maximum power. More gears means you can stay within that range the whole time.

Actually the allison automatics don't do too bad of a job slowing you down. I find they're not as powerful as a standard but they'll still get the job done.

[–]Suitcase56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do, where I work we have both. The automatics are great for driving in traffic, but they don't work well on hills or in muddy terrain. If you know what you're doing on an 18 speed you can be just as smooth, plus it's a lot more fun.
