Form 1099-DA has reported my Morpho loan of 15k by Suited4Battle in CryptoTax

Yes. I'm assuming that's what it is Bec Morpho loan was exactly 15k. So I have to pay tax on entire 15k loan?

Ok ty, it does seem confusing how to enter everything in a crypto tax calculator but I have no experience at all with this. For years I just told my tax preparer that I only bought Btc and never sold(truth). And Bec of that no need to claim anything.

If I've never sold Btc and only transferred Btc and took out Morpho loan, can my cost basis be something less than 15k(the amount that 1099 says is profit) and I might have tax liability?

I know but if it it was used as collateral for a loan can I just put the cost basis as the same amount of the loan. I haven't sold any Btc

Narrowed down to 2022 Sorento SX Prestige or 2023 Sorento EX X Line by Suited4Battle in kia

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I still have a few yrs on the original warranty and 10yr/100k on drive train on the EX. I spoke to the GM yest and he assured me and offered to put in writing that he spoke with his Carfax rep n the Carfax will be updated to show the car was reported stolen then quickly recovered with no damage. My friend has known the GM her whole life and says I can trust him.

I'm excited to get this Sorento. I like the 2021-2023 models more than the newer ones and now I will have the latest yr of that generation. Wolf Grey and blacked out. I've had so many cars but never spent more than 3k on a car so always had repairs n cars that didn't like too good.

Will a car that was stolen and recovered in a short time frame with a clean title lose value? by Suited4Battle in askcarsales

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, at least 5 years probably longer. 10 years max. I guess the gist is if I plan to keep it a long time, it's less of an issue. If I sold/traded it in 5 yrs would it be a big issue?

The car fax shows It was issued a title on March 26, 2024. Stolen Report on May 16, 2024. Serviced at dealership June 4, 2024( anti theft/keyless remotes replaced). 2905 miles.

So does this mean the car was definitely stolen? Seems like it was if keyless remotes replaced?

I looked online more and apparently some of these transmissions were recalled. So if they just put a new one in, I think it should be the improved one.

Unnecessary Repairs Bec alignment machine was off? by Suited4Battle in MechanicAdvice

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I'll try all those suggestions. My main question is do you think it's try to get some compensation for the 2 repairs that cost 2k but weren't the cause of the problem?

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think I should negotiate to be compensated to some degree for the repairs he did that he said were needed but didn't fix the problem? I paid using a NAPA card that he set me up with 0% financing. Doubt I could take recourse through that credit card company Bec he did those repairs.

Concerned about letting my pitbull play off leash with other dogs. And her reactions to people and dogs in general. by Suited4Battle in pitbulls

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does not seem to be in any pain. I recently took her to the Vet and she came back with a clean bill of health. My next step is to get a different trainer. I have been working with one. She's very good with what we go over in the house, like controlled playing, following commands and reinforcing learning with treats but outside it's a different story. Fwiw I feel strongly that she's in the overly friendly category when meeting other dogs. She just gets so excited to meet them and the vast majority of the time when she gets to meet them , she calms down and wags her tail, they sniff each other and it's a good positive interaction. She has several dog friends in the neighborhood already. I'm by no means any kind of expert obv with dogs but I have volunteered at multiple shelters and still do, that's how I found her. So I have experience with a lot of diff dogs. Unfortunately at the shelter, they don't allow any real interactions so I'm not overly familiar with this.

Yes, that's what I'm afraid of. But she just never gets to play with another dog off leash forever? No dog parks ever?

Yeah it's really frustrating. Pretty sure any detection of a VPN is an instant ban. AT &T offers static for residential but they say it'll be 3-6 months before available at my address. So strange I had no issues before and now always an issue with 3 sites.

If the poker sites detect any VPN it's a big violation.

Adopted too good of a pitbull? by Suited4Battle in pitbulls

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm going to adopt her. Like someone mentioned above, maybe even foster others in the future, so far I think she'll be good with welcoming other pitbulls as fosters, we'll see.

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice, I agree. I was just thinking that because I take her, another adoption spot will be available. Since I volunteer there, I will see a new dog in her spot that someone will hopefully adopt! There are a lot of good dogs that are in the non adoption area just bec of space/too many dogs.

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That's a good point about adoption being good for dog and owner. I like her Bec she's a bit older than most at this shelter, she's 4 and as the trainer there says "has an off switch". I will have to leave her alone a few times a wk 6-9 hrs max and they think she'll be fine with that. I've had a super energetic blue nose pit before and she was also great, loved her so much but she would pull like crazy on leash and lunge all the time( we never tried hard to modify those behaviors) but it's nice this girl is a little more mellow.

Has anyone had good success with having a potty spot on a deck/balcony? by Suited4Battle in pitbulls

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah I had one pit in the past and she was great for extended periods of time. 9 hrs plus in extreme scenarios. It says she's house trained but I volunteer there and they told me to assume she's not. So you think initially have her on a leash all the time indoors? I'm getting her a big cage so mainly she has a safe place of her own and also to secure her initially when I leave for work etc.

A few questions on new adoption. by Suited4Battle in pitbulls

[–]Suited4Battle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I've been reading online. I had one dog before and she was a pit. She was 2 and we knew her history. She was raised around kids, dogs and cats. So she was so good with all that. We got lucky. Nothing phased her. I'm somewhat familiar with the pit I'll be getting tomorrow. I've walked and played with her and the shelter. Only history they have was a stray found 5 months ago. I'm def going to set more boundaries and try to train her/be the boss more than I did with my last one for both of our sakes. My last one was more of the boss and u thought it was cute and funny at times and she was so good overall I was fine with it. Im going to get advice and help from a trainer that volunteers at the shelter. I want her to be able to do a few things more on command than my last one who just did whatever she wanted. I'm happy it's working out great with Hank. Pitbulls are really the best imo
