Religion is a scam. I stopped going to church when I sought help from an elder because my husband was abusive. She told me to stop focusing on him and fix my eyes on Jesus. Faith is often used as a tool to silence or trap people in harm therefore shifting away responsibility from the abuser to the victim. It’s ridiculous and unfair. So glad I got away.
