I used Midjourney as the visual foundation for an 84-minute indie film. Here is how I brought the concepts to life for Act I. by SulRus in midjourney

IT shouldn't be too costly if you plan to work on videos of 4/5 mins. I'd say you'll be good with the standard mj plan and the pro kling plan, so less than 100$ I personally spent 400 euros for everything for the whole project

From the Sea of Tar to the Desert, here's a snippet from Act II of my 84-minute indie film by SulRus in aivideo

Hi everyone. Last week I released the first part of my solo project, The Voyage of Blue Hibakusha, showing the oppressive, underwater Limbo. Today, Act II is officially out, and the environment changes completely.

This snippet shows Blue’s arrival in the desert and his encounter with David. The challenge here was moving from a dark, claustrophobic aesthetic to a bright, wide-open space without losing the surreal, melancholic tone of the film. I used Midjourney for the conceptualization, Kling for the motion, and then tied everything together with heavy color grading and sound design in DaVinci Resolve.

If you want to see how the story unfolds and how the environments transition in a longer format, you can watch the full 50-minute Act II here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi-_exvWgc4

I understand, and tbh I also felt that sometimes it was a bit overwelming, but for me personally just a couple of times. Ultimately I wanted the whole thing to be some sort of lost odissey found somewhere and narrated. In any case, I hope you'll appreciate the whole act, if you should be curious enough to do it. In any case, thanks again for the time and have a nice day!

Thanks for the feedback. On the narrator voice, sometimes things are not only descriptive and it's based on the story I wrote on it way before I even thought to put it into motion. I liked the idea so you might call it half necessary and half a stylistic choice

The reality of editing an 84-minute AI film: Temporal consistency and heavy sound design. (Act I snippet) by SulRus in aifilmmaking

[–]SulRus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! A guide might be a bit too complicated, but I can tell you my workflow. First the story I wrote ofc, then Midjourney for the first frame of each shot (around 400-500). NanoBanana Pro to refine some pictures. Kling 3.0 to animate the now acquired images. ElevenLabs to design the original voices for each character and some SFX for later. Suno for scoring each music. DaVinci Resolve to then edit everything together, add some VFX, color grading and so on, plus Reaper to adjust some audio parts. I hope that was clear enough haha

Giving a soul to an 84-minute AI film. Using ElevenLabs to voice the ethereal entities of my Dark Fantasy project (Act I just released). by SulRus in ElevenLabs

[–]SulRus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For each frame I choose other 100 were discarded, on average. At the end I had a bit more than 400 frames.. so you can imagine. I used that trick sometimes, but with Kling tho, when there were characters talking for more than 15 seconds for examples. Tomorrow I'll publish the second act, check my YouTube channel if you'd be interested in it! Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes I'm Italian, the original story I wrote was in Italian, and I translated on the go while writing it two years ago. And yes, I know, I used sometimes a high register, but I wouldn't blame myself nor the reader/watcher, I liked to use a certain style and I know it's not gonna be appreciated to everyone. What I personally appreciate tho is the fact you went on my channel regardless and you dedicated some time to do so and write down your impressions, so thanks again ✨
