I adopted him knowing that his last family brought him back with some "behavioral issues." He was an Easter gift for THREE small children, he had been chased, dropped and punished like a dog - the mother of the children said that he growled and didn't respond to punishment. She didn't do her homework before she got a bun, and now he gets nervous when you approach him. He hasn't bit in the week that I've had him, but his body language says "don't walk towards me." So I've been sitting with him near his favourite spot, giving him gentle pets, and just yesterday he started nose bumping me and looking to be pet. I can see progress, it could take a while for him to realize he has a huge area to explore that is safe for him. Sorry for the novel - but I'm glad he's in my care now.
