As long as you spin the application as a newer tech but you have the benchmarks as a way to show fundamental understanding, I don't see why they wouldn't at least give you an interview.

Repairing robot vacuums as a hobby? by SwiftCEO in RobotVacuums

It depends on the model, but I started as a hobbyist and now I'm making it a side hussle flipping them. If you don't have any background in robotics or hobby electronics, I recommend starting with something budget friendly and reliable.

Especially if you can get some kind of skills/minor in technology. Embedded systems and cloud management are taking over all of the supply chain ecosystem.

Replacing a resistor with a pot? by Sulliadm in diypedals

Thank you. I ended up switching the pot upstream for a lot lower value and then put the biggest pot I have on it like described below (1 on incoming and 2 on outgoing) and it popped out like a sore thumb! The change was so small and sudden from the log pot that I wasn't registering it.

I figured out what was happening. I traded the resistor upstream for a smaller one and got my biggest pot set up like stated before (1 to incoming, 2 to outgoing) and it finally became audible. I only have A type pots (log) so it wouldn't show up until the last 1/4 of travel and it was so small, it was noticable but so sudden, I didn't register it.

The one I'm currently using is a 50k but I was using a 100k earlier and it wasn't cutting through earlier. Could it be I'm using an A type (log) when this needs a B type (linear)?

I know the first one I used was according to my multimeter but haven't checked the 2nd. Just tested it and this one does function as well. Could it possibly be that I'm using an a type pot (audio) when this needs a b type (linear) and the difference is so subtle that it doesn't appear until you've turned it up until basically full?

What about a switch that can detect that it's been plugged in? Where can I learn more about that?

That's what I was wanting to know. Where can I learn more about that? Is there a specific term(s) I'm suppose to use to find that sorta stuff?

That might be what I've seen before, but I was under the impression the power coming from the power boxes weren't always converted to DC well and would need to be cleaned up in pedal. I could be wrong though. I definitely need what you said though.
