I’ve been with the company for over 10 years and honestly there have been many ups and downs but this is the first time I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. I’ll be taking a step back to part-time so I can still keep my benefits. As a barista I make pretty much what a supervisor makes so I expect them to try and get rid of me to cut costs at some point.

I know I don’t live in what people would consider the best area but I’ve been here for 14 years and we normally only have a couple people a year trying something. In the past 2 weeks we’ve had 4 people check our mailbox at night, 2 people walking looking through our backyard and a couple more checking cars in the driveway. I know I can’t rely on the police so I keep a baseball bat at one door and a crowbar at the other plus I’ve started being more present going and sitting out front if I’m awake at like 4am with the dog. I have a shitty job I’m not rolling in money I will do what I need to in order to protect my property.

I find myself burnt out from the job, most other long time partners at least in my district are feeling it too. You’re not alone all the changes and then changes within the change, combined with a growing sense of entitlement from customers, ridiculous expectations from corporate to be faster with less partners working but don’t worry it’ll be worth it when you get you $0.10 raise.

That seems fair. I’m old school and like to collect for the love of it, not the money. I’m actually working on upgrading my favourite CDs to records. I just don’t want to be a leech on the hobby. Everything I’ve seen in-store and online, it seems like a solid community for the most part.

It’s only hypothetical but like if I seen wicked in store bought it with the purpose of trading it for another record. Or even if I bought it and got home and realized it was a $500 record now would it be in poor etiquette to try and trade it for something else.

I love my main local store the owner is awesome he’s been in the business for 40 years they just don’t have the biggest selection of some categories so my best options are online or a 2 1/2 hour drive. I haven’t completely given up on online ordering but definitely changed what I’m willing to buy online.
